How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

If you don’t want to get upset stay away from any Banfield , unfortunately here in Florida I wasn’t able to find one Banfield that was efficient, very friendly people but poor service , I cancel the plan and I would not recommend anyone to sign with this plan , this office in particular the employees rotation is big every time is someone different, last time my dog was check in hospital and was not even in the office that’s how professional they are! Frustrating all u can say

I quite possibly do not think that I’ve had a better vet experience than Banfield Pet Hospital in Winter Garden. To start off, the vet tech (I’m so mad I cannot remember her name right now, but I’ll be sure to update when I do) was so kind. I enrolled in the OWP plan and today was my first appointment, and the vet tech explained everything to me and even listened to all of the concerns I had with my cat, and ensured me that she was happy to answer any questions when I apologized for having so many. She alone made me feel like I was making the right choice in taking my cat here. Then, the process is so easy. They explain right there everything they are going to do, and I was able to drop my cat off and head home to get some other things done. Once my cat was ready, the same vet tech called and explained everything in full detail, as well as future plans. When I came to pick up my cat, I got to speak to the vet, Eileen Shaw, and I am not kidding, I have not spoken to a kinder doctor in any variation, for pet or human. She was SO detailed in what she was telling me as far as the test results for my pet. Additionally, she took the time to answer all of my questions and I even apologized because naturally I just have a lot of questions and I knew they were so busy, but I felt so ensured that she was happy to answer anything and everything, even going as far as writing down a food schedule for my cat, including my cat’s goal weight and amount of calories she needs per day. I am so thankful for all of the staff because everyone I encountered was kind and caring. Even while I was in the room waiting for my cat, I heard Dr. Shaw talking to my cat and was being so sweet to her. I loved this experience and am hoping every experience is like this because I do not want to take my cat to another vet due to the way these staff members were so kind, caring, and informative. Thank you all for absolutely everything! Ari thanks you all as well!

We brought our sweet baby here because she was having bladder problems and was told our appointment time was 8:15 AM. Upon arrival we’re told they can’t give any pricing due to their system being down, ok that’s fine, stuff happens. As well as being unable to tell us when we can pick her up/ when she will be seen. We call back at 10:30 to get an update and get told our dog still has yet to be seen and still weren’t given any pricing. Why on earth would they have our dog sitting in the back in a cage with all the other dogs barking? We could have just brought her another time if they would’ve been upfront about the appointment time. I do not recommend.

This location is always so overbooked now that the vet cannot properly care for their patients. We were rushed in and out and were told there was not a room available. My concerns for scheduling this appointment in the first place were not addressed and I was not given proper feedback. I was told that ithe vet remarks were with the receipt. I went home to review the paperwork and saw they listed my pets teeth in poor condition, which I know is not the case bc we just had them done the prior week at another business that does not use anesthesia, which I had to cover out of pocket bc the last time he had it done at this hospital, they had difficulty waking my pet likely due to too much anesthesia. There is a need for more Banfield hospitals due to expansion of population and this location being overbooked all of the time. There needs to be one one in Clermont and Groveland. Or hire more staff. What exactly does Banfield plan to do about this problem? Thankfully they're opening a Vet 365 and Pet Co is also opening a similar place with plans that are comparable to Banfield. I don't want to leave Banfield but my pets health and safety are important to me and I need to feel his doctors also care. Additionally, I reached out to the care advocate team and to date, they have not responded so please give me a phone number and not an email if that is your solution.
