How to Save Money at Noah's Ark Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We've been to 3 separate veterinarians in the Brandon area over the last year and we're not happy with their care for our 2 dogs and cat. We found this Animal hospital on a google search. Made an appointment for our cat. This review is based on our first visit. The care they provided was excellent. The staff was incredible and so caring. The facility was clean and the medical procedure's are very modern. Based on this, we will take all of our animals to them. Thank you again for taking care of our cat!

After a lot of research and review reading, I decided to bring my pup Jake to Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital. Dr. Hunter, Stephanie, Courtney and the team were incredible and so kind to our Jake. They listened to all of my concerns and I really haven’t experienced quality care like this at a Veterinary visit in a very long time! We are now life long clients. If you want kind and quality care I wouldn’t think twice about coming to Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital! So grateful!

I want to share my experience. This place is just a business! You make an appointment, they charge you, and then your free to go. They don’t educate you and deeply don’t care about any issues going on with your pet. They only care to charge you and quickly let you go. I had an experience where I had to make a dentist appointment. I specifically asked since it’s my first time “does my pet have any issues or concern?” They said Yes, and they charged me not even examining if my dog really had a serious issue. They made a serious appointment for a serious procedure again WITHOUT AN EXAM!!! The serious procedure for dentistry, to put your dog to sleep so they can do deep dental work on the issue. So I was forced to do this because no one educated me if my pet had an issue or not which is after being charged for not doing anything. So I made an appointment for the serious procedure in Tampa, to put my dog to sleep so they can work on the issue. It’s very stressful for everyone and when I picked up my dog after the procedure, the doctor told me my pet has perfect teeth and there was NO NEED to do it in the first place! For everyone’s education, it is always risky and very dangerous to put your dog to sleep unless it’s very necessary in order to help a huge issue because there’s always a risk that you’ll never see your dog again. I put my dog under the risk FOR NO REASON!!! Because Noah’s Ark doctor without examining my dog did not OBSERVE enough to diagnose if there is a reason to proceed to the next level. By the way, I got charged for this non exam visit. End of the story, I ended up spending hundreds of dollars for no reason!!! I wasted my time and money and they still didn’t educate me. I learned on my own. This place, you cannot trust them they don’t educate you, they just check off their list: you show up, make sure you pay them, and they make sure to kick you out as fast as possible! It’s business place!!! They make money off you guys only.

We have 2 miniature dachshunds who are always well treated at Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital. The office staff, technicians, and veterinarian, Dr. Hunter, are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Most importantly, when we have an emergency with one of our dogs they are very accommodating as far as squeezing us in even on a busy day. I would highly recommend Noah’s Ark for your fur babies!

Yeshua’s Servant

I walked in there and immediately doubted the help that they would be able to provide. To involve God into your name and the story of Noah’s Ark (where ALL animals were loved by God and told to go onto it 2 by 2) only to take cats and dogs makes zero sense. I am disappointed but they are always like this..
