How to Save Money at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I never write a review thats bad, things happen and I usually just ignore it. I am a very reasonable person and understand I will not always get the best news at vets or even doctors and know that its not the doctors fault. But this place had me shaking and leaving there crying. The guy that was working as vet tech and front deck was AMAZING and thats why I even gave one star. The other vet tech and vet were awful. When the vet tech was going over why I was there I wanted to be honest and tell her I gave me dog my other dogs prescription food., and she said " thats like If your other dog is on chemo and youre giving them chemo to a dog that doesnt need it". Doesnt sound like a big deal but she completely turned my vulnerability into a power trip for herself. Very condesending. Then the vet walked in almost two hours later and said two words then said " dog needs to go to the ER", I thought this place was emergency service by the way. The Lack of empathy and compassion this place had (besides the nice gentleman working multiple postions)is absurd. When youre dealing with people and people with their pets you should have some type of empathy and compassion.

My dog has been here multiple times and it has always been great particularly because of the vet techs! They're always so good to my dog. But, yesterday was just perfect. I was really nervous because my dog had been sick for a while and Jayma calmed me down. She was very informative and kind, and more importantly, she treated my dog like her own. My dog was so calm with her, she even accepted cookies (she never does from strangers), gave her kisses, and even took a nap! At the vet!!! Dr. Carroll was also amazing. It was our first appointment with her and for the first time in forever I felt like a vet actually cared and took the time to sit down on the floor with me and my dog! If you're nervous about people mistreating your pet, this is the place to go! They'll be patient, acommodating, and gentle.

Great vet, great staff, tried to really help me make $250 go far for a dog that is not my own ( belonged to an elderly dementia patient). I spent more than $250 but I really, really appreciate their willingness to be helpful to me and be useful for the sweet dog. They really care about the animals!!

The lack of transparency and miscommunication within the staff is highly unprofessional and misleading. It is regrettable that their actions appeared manipulative and they failed to properly inform me about the procedures being conducted on my dog and administrate vaccines that I clearly declined. Also give her flea medicine that I did not approve of. It is regrettable that we placed our trust in this company and expected them to act in a fair and honest manner when purchasing our beloved pets, which we cherish as if they were our own children. After being deceived in such a manner, I now have doubts about this establishment's ability to provide proper care and act in the best interests of my pet. My older dog was unable to move the next day after becoming stiff, and was crying due to vaccine and the harsh treatment and aggression of the staff.

This Place is trash, Don't bother writing down any details for your dog online before the appointment, They won't look at it and prepare themselves for how to deal with your dog. They have a male vet there right now Who seems to be terrified of dogs, Because he refused to do the appointment with my dog after she barked at him. He just flattened himself against a wall. And started stuttering about About a reschedule with a different vet. Definitely The most disappointing and unprofessional experience i've had in any vet.
