How to Save Money at Tallahassee Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

There’s so many great things to say about Dr.Woodham, Miss Katy, and the staff at Tallahassee Veterinary Hospital! From my personal opinion and after working at and visiting multiple animal hospitals in Tallahassee, I can honestly say that I ONLY trust TVH with my hellions. They are the only place that Im not only happy going to, and feel like my questions and concerns are heard (even when I can be a bit of a chatty Kathy lol), but I can also guarantee that my cats and dogs are happy here too. To this day I’m so thankful I found them when I did for my baby boy Kakashi. When he was around 5-8 months old, he visited a hospital in the area for routine check ups and a neuter. After each visit (2 or 3) he would be so stressed and scared that he was panting, stress shedding, messing himself, and clung to me for hours after his visit. Not wanting my baby boy to deal with this any longer, we went on the hunt for a great vet, and found one we did. I dropped Kakashi off for a visit and upon picking him up, his behavior was a complete 180! When I picked him up from morning drop off, I could hear his pur from a distance and he was so happy and outgoing with the staff. They dotted on him and put my cat mom fears at ease. My baby was finally at the kind of place he deserved. The staff were beyond great with him and I am forever grateful! Earlier this year, he came back after being diagnosed at an ER vet with FLUTD, where he was once again unhappy but yet again, was the sweetest & happiest boy when leaving TVH. This and the fact that after today, I have brought 5 animals to TVH and they ALL leave so happy, cements the fact I made the right choice for my babies and I always recommend this vet when I can!

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Woodham and his staff. They definitely treat every animal they see as their own. I've called to make appointments and just to ask for advice about our cat Milo and they are always accommodating. Highly recommend making them your pets go to for routine care.

Simply put - great people who provide great service. Dr. Woodham treats your critter like his own family and he has a genuine authenticity that you don't find very often in the field. When I call to ask for something, Katy and the staff seem to already know what I need and they make the process as simple as possible. I couldn't imagine a better team to help me take care of my rescue pup.

We cannot say enough good things about the compassionate and professional care our two dogs have received from the Tallahassee Veterinary Hospital. The office manager Katy is always responsive and friendly with tech Adrienne alway smiling, showing she loves her job and has a heart for animals. Dr. Woodham has always been accessible and approcable for questions and concerns that we have had with our two dogs. At TVH it's not just the outstanding service you and your pet receive, it the professional and caring staff that makes it the best in town.

The kindest, most approachable and understanding people. If you want a local hometown vet, this is the place to go. My dog practically jumped the counter every time we went cause she loved going there. I moved 3 hours away, and seriously considered keeping them as our vet cause I know no practice can compare.
