How to Save Money at Chewy Vet Care Plantation
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Chewy Vet Care of Plantation deserves even more than 5 stars. I have a very shy kitty and they took such good care of her. Dr. Krista and her vet tech Vanessa were so sweet with my kitty and so gentle. I felt very at ease with them and they were very thorough in explaining everything during the exam. They even called a few days later to check on my kitty to make sure she was okay after starting a new medication. The front desk staff was also so very kind and they helped us into a quiet exam room within seconds of coming through the door. I've had my cat for five years and this was by far the best vet visit I have ever experienced. On top of all of this, a few weeks later, I received a customized ID tag and hand-painted portrait of my cat in the mail as a "thank you" for being one of the first visitors to this location. I am so in awe of Chewy's customer service and I plan to be a customer for life after this.

So happy with my recent experience in this new Chewy Vet Care project. I was looking for a different vet for a while and why not to try the same company where I buy my cats things. I went early morning as a walk in hesitant if they would take my two cats for sick and wellness exam and within 1.5hr I was out with all my problems solved. The receptionist was supper nice, she gave me a gift card and catnip treats for my cats while in there. Dr. Pullon was supper relaxed and 0 pushy when it comes to recommending things. And the nurse Louis was suuper super nice and understanding during the visit. I think is the first time I go to a vet and they try to help me with the expenses. I ended up subscribing my cats to the Chewy vet plan they had and were able to even safe money during my first visit. The clinic is all new, super clean and aesthetic looking. Highly recommended 🌟

Everyone is very friendly, the place is very clean and welcoming, and I did not have to wait 2 hours for the doctor to even come in the room unlike our previous vet. Unfortunately we have had a lot of negative experiences in the past with the vet. Vet care is not cheap but I feel like their team gave us the time to explore our options instead rushing us to make decisions and guilting us by saying things like “it’s what would do if i cared about my cat.” They were also very accommodating as i had urgent concerns with my cat and we were able to get a sooner appointment for him to be seen that accommodated my schedule.

This was the first time at Chewy Vet. I always order my dogs food on the app and any toys or treats and saw they had a physical vet location in Plantation and just had to try it out. I was looking for a 2nd opinion after almost a year of no answers at the vet I’ve been going to for 14 years. The staff is so attentive, caring and friendly. They made us feel super comfortable. At no time did I feel rushed or uneasy. I didn’t even wait a minute and was already in a beautiful suite with my dog. Dr. Krista gave me the answer I have been waiting for so long. I finally knew what was going on with my dog, finally had some weight lifted off my shoulders; hopefully this medication works. As crazy as it sounds, Chewy vet care saw something in some test results that were done months ago that my old vet told me I had nothing to worry about. Ridiculous but so happy they were able to help us. The pricing wasn’t so bad either. And honestly it’s 1000% worth it. Definitely going to make this my new vet and bring my two other dogs. Amazing experience. Honestly such lovely and kind humans work there!!!

Chewy takes vet care to the next level! I’ve never had a more compassionate experience than this appointment. They’re knowledgeable & friendly. Plus they take their time with you. You’re offered a refreshment drink & pets are given a goody bag. Who knew I could fall in love with a vet? I highly recommend trying them so you can see the Chewy difference.
