How to Save Money at Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I absolutely love pet pal! Dr. Smith has taken care of all my three kitty babies I rescued from the same litter. He did the neutering and spaying of all three and is just such an awesome Veterinarian. Everytime he called me, he’s so nice and reassuring. I have so much respect for him, not to mention everyone that I’ve encountered at the front desk, the Techs and even the other Vet Doctor, I forget her name but she has also helped me before and she was very nice and caring. Always the animals best interest in mind. It’s very affordable and I truly have always had a pleasant experience here. I am so so grateful to have them nearby and to be able to trust them with my precious babies.

Last week, I came in for a vaccines. And this was the best experience I've ever had at a veterinarian office. And I came in with my young son and my dog, and the weight was short, which I was so grateful for. The receptionist at the front desk was very nice and then the technician was phenomenal. She had to take my dogs temperature a second time because the first time it was too high because she was nervous. The technician was so understanding and just extremely helpful because she said she is a mother to a young son as well. She did tell me that she was new, but the way she dealt with my dog, I would've never guessed. She can be a handful! I am so grateful for Pet Pal and all the work that they do with this clinic and her shelter. I wanted to write this as a thank you to the wonderful staff being so nice and understanding of my hyper dog and child. I will be back soon.

My Boxers have been into the clinic for the vaccine clinic, Dr exams, and recently to be spayed and neutered. They have done an amazing job each time. The check in process is super easy, and my dogs are happy going there. I was extremely pleased with their surgeries.

First, every time I called, I got the voicemail. Second , the were unable to fit me in for a semi-emergency. I even showed up at 8. AM in a Saturday Third, I arrived 15 minutes early, and asked if the dr was running late and they said No. Fourth, I waited 45 minutes, really one hour, and finally asked what’s going on and they said the Dr had an emergency- I said why didn’t you tell me. Fifth, they let someone bring in a dog with NO leash and run around the waiting room. Yes, they did know. If they treat me this way, how are they going to treat my dog or your animal. By the way, the staff is always changing. I understand that they are inexpensive but you get what you pay for. While in the waiting room, I call Bayview vet and they fit me in two hours later. Had a great experience and they are reasonable priced.

Fantastic vet! My Shiba is very restless when it comes to getting her vaccines and this clinic got them done quickly with no issues. The other 4 vets I went to wanted to sedate her to get the job done. Very good price and lovely concierge as well. I will be back.
