How to Save Money at SODO Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

They over vaccinated my 12 week old puppy gave him 2 sets of shots I told them he already got from the breeder. They went against my wishes & vaccinated him again & again. I called the other day to express concern that my pup has had diarrhea since the last visit, & they never returned my call EDIT: called again today & they gaslit me saying the excess vaccines wouldn’t be causing the diarrhea yet, we all know how puppy’s are after one dose (diarrhea lethargy) Now I have to spend 200$ on detox supplements for my boy to hopefully detox him. He’s been acting different since his last visit & they refuse to take accountability. Avoid this place at all cost. They are money hungry to the core & do not have the patients best interest at heart. I regret coming to this place. Now I can only hope they didn’t cause any damage neurological etc to my young puppy. They will also offer you toxic flea & heartworm prevention that is known to kill pets. UPDATE: the supplements worked wonders he no longer has diarrhea or inconsistent stools. if you’d like to detox your pet from the poison these abusers push out visit LOUISE’S PET CONNECTION IN LAKE MARY. Holistic & all natural remedies. They also have a recommended vet.

So far so good. We'll see how it goes. I love the automatic sliding doors. It's clean and did not smell of animals. The room was also nice and clean. Staff was friendly, concise and considerate. The vet that saw was me very empathetic and respectful. ‼️Beware: they charge you 3.5% if you pay with credit card which sucks.

I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have found this exceptional veterinary clinic. After trying out several other clinics, I ultimately chose this one, and it has been the best decision for my beloved pet. The doctors here are truly amazing. They have a genuine passion for animals and provide the highest level of care. Their expertise and knowledge are evident in every interaction. What touched my heart the most was seeing the doctors come to work with their own dogs. It shows their deep love and commitment to animals, and it speaks volumes about their dedication. In times of emergencies, this clinic has been a true lifesaver. Whenever I had an urgent situation with my dog, they were there for us without hesitation. Their immediate attention and prompt action helped alleviate my worries and provided the necessary care for my furry friend. It's a testament to their commitment to their patients and their owners. Not only are the doctors exceptional, but the entire staff is caring and attentive. From the moment you step into the clinic, you feel welcomed and valued. They go above and beyond to ensure both you and your pet are comfortable and well taken care of. Regrettably, I will be moving out of Florida, and one of the things I will miss the most is this incredible veterinary clinic. The peace of mind they provided and the trust I developed in their expertise is irreplaceable. In conclusion, if you're looking for a veterinary clinic that goes above and beyond, this is the place to go. The amazing doctors, their genuine care for your pet, their willingness to handle emergencies promptly, and the compassionate staff make this clinic a true standout. I can't recommend them enough, and I will forever cherish the memories and the exceptional care my pet received.

If I could give negative stars, I would. My vet I usually go to is not participating in day boarding. My husband and I need to work so we found this vet. My dog has hookworms, he’s only 3 months old, and has no rabies shot due to being sick and needing healing time. I called and spoke with Victor (Client Service Specialist) he said it’s okay that our dog goes to their boarding. Once Victor said they will accept my dog for day boarding and keep him isolated, we scheduled an appointment (it is a requirement prior to day boarding). At the appointment we met with Dr. Juan Patino on Friday. We told him our situation with our dog and showed him all of the previous vet exam results and he insisted on taking a fecal exam and waiting until Monday to receive fecal results as well as medication for my puppy (although we’ve already told him that we noticed blood in my puppy’s stool.) We were already required to pay $72 for the exam and then the additional $48.99 for the fecal exam. Monday morning I go to drop off my puppy and when I get there, the receptionist stated that my dog needed a rabies shot prior to boarding and that they will keep him “for now” until the vet comes and they will let us know if our puppy can stay. The rabies shot requirement was not mentioned on the phone nor at the exam on Friday. I left my dog due to having to go to work and I receive a call 2 hour later saying that they can’t keep my dog because he doesn’t have a rabies shot. I let them know that my husband nor I are able to pick up my dog so the vet said they’d keep my dog for the day but moving forward they were unable to keep my dog without the rabies shot. I also want to mention that THEY DID NOT FEED MY PUPPY LUNCH while he was there, I’m assuming out of spite. Also, my dog was also covered in his feces when I picked him up. Safe to say we will not be returning to this vet. They are greedy, money hungry, unprofessional, and this staff lacks communication not only within their office but with their clients as well. If you can save yourself the money, save your pet from torture, and find a vet that actually cares for them! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. *update* I asked them for my dog’s fecal results and the REFUSED to give them to me and stated that they’ll only email the results to my dog’s vet.
