How to Save Money at Kingsley Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
My family has been taking our furry pets to KAH for years. They are always incredible with our pets especially our dog. He’s very anxious around strangers and new things but when we saw them today they were so patient and kind with him. They are so knowledgeable and helpful with whatever situation we’re facing whether it’s a routine check up or a serious issue. When our cat started having seizures and eventually passed a few years back they guided us through the entire process of caring for her in those final months and they were very compassionate when the time came for her to move on. I’d take all of my animals to Kingsley if I could and they are my go to recommendation for cat or dog parents.

I had a great overall experience from check-in to check-out. Everyone was friendly and very pleasant. The vet answered all of my questions and I feel confident that my boys will have great care here. I felt relieved to finally find a like-minded place that offers a holistic approach to pet care. I love that they offer a great selection of high quality food and supplements. My boys will be life long patients at Kingley and I will recommend them to everyone I know! It's an hour away but definitely worth the drive! (They were sleepy on their way home after their first appointment)

Showed up early for a appointment my wife made. However wasn’t able to be seen because the $40 deposit wasn’t paid? Both my wife and I were not aware of any deposit because we never spoke with anyone regarding that but still the dogs aren’t having a surgery so why do you even need a deposit? Both members of staff were not able to help me in any way either meaning didn’t see if there was anything we could do. Most certainly we be finding another vet to go to. Taking a deposit for a $80 visit is kinda strange.

Fantastic service and excellent gentle natural products!!! We took in my daughter's cat bc she was unable to use her hind legs and what I thought was a growth on her side. Another vet clinic we went to was unable to address any of my concerns but Dr Fish at Kingsley Animal Hospital did a more thorough examination and was able to diagnose the beginnings of arthritis in her spine. What I thought was a growth was just her breakfast still digesting and that she took in air during her bath. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR EVERYONE AT THIS CLINIC!!! Their staff is awesome and compassionate and they genuinely love their patients.

We started with Dr Fred in 1987 with our kitties & have been faithful ever since (except when we were overseas/out of area -& Mandarin was just a little too far) Have always received the best conscientious care & expect it to continue - Vet Techs are caring & attentive. Been taking GB to Poochie's Park for more than a year & still not tempted to use their onsite vet services (not saying they aren't good too) - just appreciate & loyal to y'all! Thank you!
