How to Save Money at Lake Olympia Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
It was my first visit at Lake Olympia Veterinary Clinic, and I was extremely impressed; the staff was very helpful and attentive to me and my two Boston Terriers. They listened to my concerns and followed through with my requests. They are very reasonably priced for teeth cleaning. Yes, the office interior could use an update, as it looks a bit tired; however, I am more interested in impeccable service and affordable prices. I will be back and have already recommended them to my friends with pets.

Great vet! Low cost fees and they are very nice there. If I ever have to make a last minute appt for my dog bc he gets sick, they try their hardest to get him in the same day.

Wonderful first time vet visit! Quick in and out, Dr. Beltran was very thorough & the staff were super kind. Also the prices shocked me at how affordable they are! Marshall had a great experience and left as happy as when he came in. That’s very important to me, because I never want him scared of the vet. Highly recommended.

I am beyond thankful for Dr.Beltran and his staff. I called them yesterday morning trying to keep myself together regarding my VERY large fur baby and some sudden onset medical concerns. The wonderful front desk staff spoke to me calmly and told me to bring him in same day. Once Ryker and I got there he was weighed and brought back to the exam room to await Dr.Beltran..after a discussing with the vet tech what has been on going she went out and informed Dr.Beltran. He promptly came into the room and listened to everything that I had told him I was experiencing with Ryker over the last 24 hours and even took the time to review a video I had taken earlier that day. He advised me on what he sees going on and what his diagnosis could possibly be but did not want to confirm it until we had his labs completed to be 100%… so Ryker had his labs drawn in house yesterday and we where discharged. Was advised to keep a close eye on him and call the office if anything worsens… well fast forward to today and I get a call from LOVC and it’s non-other than Dr. Beltran he personally called to check on Ryker and how he was doing and reviewed the labs with me… once he confirmed his labs where clear then he continued to confirm his diagnosis from the day prior and advised me on what our next game plan would be… I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better veterinarian him and his staff are amazing… I work in medicine but with humans and it’s easier get get information on what is wrong from them…but for our fur babies who can not let us know what’s wrong Dr. Beltran and his ENTIRE staff are amazing and I thank you as well as Ryker for taking great care of him

This vet is always very helpful with our animals. We've had to bring in our two dogs and a cat and each time the vet techs are very friendly with the animals and they seem to like visiting here a lot as well. The doctors have always been really good and quick to get a plan to feeling better in place.
