How to Save Money at Affordable PetCare Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Very caring doctor & assistants! We've been taking our dog Bentley to Dr Moore over 6 years & think she is amazing. She removed a growth on his side that came back as Malignant Melanoma. We know the wonderful team there will continue to take wonderful care of him & our sons dog Baxter (who are both 14 years old). I highly recommend them!

Best vet experience ever! They go above and beyond to make your pet feel as comfortable as can be. My cat was soothed in the waiting room after they thoughtfully placed a pheromone towel over her carrier, she was not bothered as much by the normal foot traffic and I really appreciated it. I was also pleasantly surprised that instead of being in the exam room waiting for the staff to arrive, we actually all went in to the exam room at the same time. I loved how the process was to have me open the carrier on the floor, and white we chatted about her medical history, my cat was attended to after they waited for her to come out on her own terms. The exam was quick and I didn't even notice they gave her a shot. This was the most relaxing and pleasant visit I and my cat have ever had. Dr Moore and her staff are gems, I wish I would have known about her years ago.

We recently adopted a female pitbull mix from Collier Department of Animal Services. It's been some time since we have owned a dog and needed to find our pup a doctor. DAS provided us with a list of vets and I researched each one and chose Dr. Moore at Affordable Vet. I am so happy we did. Dr. Moore and her staff were caring and thorough. She spent an amazing amount of time with us evaluating our 4 year old pup. She pointed out certain health aspects that our pup experienced and guided us for recommended treatments. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Moore and staff. We feel so much more confident and at ease knowing our beautiful girl has the right care as she eases in to her forever home! Thank you to everyone at Affordable Pet Care.

Dr. Moore and her staff are outstanding, compassionate and show care for each animal. From a pheromone sprayed towel over a carrier to calm, to letting our cat loose in the exam room to allow him to acclimate before beginning exams and observe his behavior, this team is thoughtful and thorough. This is our second cat cared for by Dr. Moore and our new cat just underwent an involved surgery, which he recovered from beautifully thanks to Dr. Moores skills. I cannot thank Dr. Moore and her staff enough for being so compassionate and caring. We live half a year in Florida and I wish I could take this team north when I leave! We look forward to seeing you next year!

I’ve taken 1 of my cats and 1 of my dogs here, and I wish I could say it was a good a experience for any of us, because they had to be put a sleep, but the staff is AMAZING! They are so caring and helpful. The staff is so nice and goes above and beyond for the furr babies and the owner’s as well. I highly recommend it!! And I will definitely come back if I have to with any of my animals. They’re also very affordable which is nice since a lot of people are struggling with money right now. You won’t be disappointed! My baby girl Chicita was in good hands went she got put to sleep 💕
