How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Worst company ever. Over priced and have no idea what they are doing. They are scammers and crooks. There are better vets that are far more affordable that can accurately diagnose your pet at a fraction of the cost

The only reason I’m leaving 2 stars and not 1 is because while the tech I usually see at the check in desk is mostly the doctors messenger and does the job she is told, she is very sweet and listens. Don’t want to put her name out there. As for the doctors themselves, I have a few negatives to say. I come to banfield for both of my pets and usually it isn’t always a perfect visit but I understand when dealing with a sick animal no situation can be perfect. However… Yesterday when my cat started acting strange, showing early signs of a bladder blockage (some of you know is VERY serious) I call this location since my other cat has been seen here and when I called at 2:44pm exactly I was told “the doctor is going home early, and won’t be able to see your cat.” Okay. Fine. I understand things happen “maybe” they had a emergency or plans. Still thought that was rather strange to not have another doctor scheduled for the remaining 3 hours. After taking my cat to the farther banfied location near WPB outlets, and then an ER visit, $1,300 bill later, I still have to get his urine tested. So I call today to go to this local banfield and I’m told by the kind receptionist “the doctor will not test the cats sample because they are not a patient here.” Huh?? 1. Banfield in WPB had never seen my cat before and yet had alllll his information. Strange…. 2. My cat would become a regular patient there after this sample is tested because it’s my local banfield. 3. The doctor can’t take him because she wants to “examine him” herself??? I have $1,300 worth of records made the day before of blood work, a urine sample, and a physical, and you are telling me you can’t use all that info to create a foundation of a new patient??? Or is it that you want me to pay the initial $200 vet visit fee in order to take his urine sample? Not only that, but when I asked to speak with the doctor directly, I was put on hold for over 15 minutes then disconnected then I called back and was told the doctor said she just started a “dental cleaning” and wasn’t able to speak with me. Hm, sounds very urgent indeed. So, I say to this banfield, you didn’t want to have the courtesy to test my cats sample and help me out during this already exhausting and stressful time, well now you have lost 2 patients at your location and the pet store has lost a customer.

I wish I would havbreadvthe reviews first 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 Well I was very unhappy, when I take my pet to the vets, I expect to talk to the doctor, especially when he is sick. The only person I spoke with was a tech. She was more concerned about pushing a 2 year shots that I was getting anyway. ,Not only should the vet have come to talk to me , she should have done so much more. How are you going to tell me you have a treatment plan when you did not ask any questions, My dog has a serious infection and either it was not told to the doctor or she ignored it. The entire we will take you dog to the back without you, should have been. Big red flag🚩🚩🚩 Lock Down Is Over.... These covid steps you have in place are seriously out dated. It only allows the Vet to see more pets as she does not wast ti!e talking to the owners. Little heads up Doc.speaking to the owners and finding out what's going on especially with a new patient does alot. Again covid lock down is over and any place that does stuff like this does not get my business , you and your staff are just lazy and a doctor that doesn't take the time to talk to anyone should not practice veterinary medicine, as you will never have the full picture.

By far the nicest sweetest vets I've ever been to and they have a great yearly program 3 to choose from. They did amazing work with my 90lbs American bulldog mix Stella. Thank you and highly recommend..!
