How to Save Money at Animal Emergency Clinic of Deerfield Beach

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My furbaby swallowed a nickel and had to bring her to the emergency room because she got seizures. I was very worried however at Animal Emergency Clinic of Deerfield they immediately went into action and took care of her. She stayed overnight. They said they would call me between 7-8am and they called me between those times. Everytime I would call they always responded within 2-3 rings, always responsive and polite. Very satisfied with the visit. Thank you to all the staff!!! You guys are amazing- The first picture is on the first day and the second picture is on the second day where she is doing a lot better-

I didn’t know what was wrong with my dog Roxy when I came home from work she wasn’t acting right. We immediately rushed her to the clinic. They were able to see us right away. They were all so very nice and professional. They were able to get bloodwork and x-rays and diagnosed quickly and ended up doing emergency surgery to remove her spleen. If they hadn’t found it right away, she would not be here today. I would absolutely recommend them. And thanks again to them for saving my best friends life.🐶❤️🐶❤️🐶

We are forever grateful for the exceptional service and care we received from Animal Emergency Clinic after bringing in our dog late in the evening due to a dog bite. He needed immediate attention and everyone at the clinic was professional, attentive and caring right from the start. They were upfront about price, helped us obtain financing and continued to provide exceptional care over the next nine days. Always available to provide updates and we cannot thank them enough!

This place seems to want to scam people out of money when in a vulnerable state about your pet being sick. They wanted to charge me $5,500 for my cat I kindly declined as that was to much for me to afford. The staff immediately made me feel like an awful person for declining for financial reasons. The part that makes me say they scam is I proceeded to take my cat to another vet who did the same things for my cat this place was offering to do for $5,500 for a tremendously lower price of $550. And was given medicine to take home to help assist in recovery where this place wasn't going to give me medicine to take home and also said what they wanted to do might not even work. Just all around seemed like a scam for money in my personal experience. Add on for owner: You will not find my name in your records because I was there with my sister and she did the paperwork. I am posting this here so public can see it because you are very rude to people and you are sharing their pets info without their consent. In the state of Florida that is actually against the law to share that information without the pet owners knowledge and or consent. You can simply find the information online on the American Veterinary Medical Association website in regards to releasing patient info. You will not receive my contact info or anything similar the reason being from other reviews you call and harass people. Also I do not want you to release any information that i have not agreed to. I've never done this on these reviews I am usually very positive but you are a poor and rude owner and it shows through your replies to others and through your business. Thank you and have an amazing day!
