How to Save Money at Animal Recreation & Rehabilitation Center

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My daughter used Dr. Loeser a few years ago while her cat had a disease and finally had to be euthanized. At that time, I decided if I ever needed a vet, I would definitely use Dr. Joyce. Yesterday I did have to euthanize my 19 yr.old cat. Of course, I was devastated and hysterically crying while I was in the office. Dr. Joyce came to get my “alley boy” from me to give him his shot. I was sitting on a bench seat in the waiting room & she sat down “on the floor” giving me love & support at this difficult time. She is a warm, caring, loving, compassionate person, who also is an extremely wonderful & competent veterinarian. Her office is definitely one of a kind, which makes you feel safe and secure for your little fur babies. It’s a feeling of coziness and warmth with love vibes. It’s in a beautifully natural setting, which I love. I strongly recommend using her for all your veterinarian needs. Thank you Doctor for being the unusual person you are & for helping me get through this difficult time in my life‼️❤️❤️❤️

Dr. Loeser is the best! We highly recommend her, she has a great welcoming Animal Recreational and Rehabilitation Center in Flamingo Rd along with a beautiful & peaceful garden. Unfortunately our ten year old rescued Golden retriever was sadly diagnosed with splenic hemangiosarcoma a couple of weeks ago. My husband and I feel devastated but, after taking our Sammy to see Dr. Loeser we feel much better. We’re trying something new for my dog like an herbal supplement that acts as an anticoagulant and more, we will go from here. We believe our loved dog is in great hands 🙏 Thank you Dr Loeser for saving many pets! We’re very grateful to have you in our Davie hometown.

Dr. Loser and the entire staff are amazing. Over the years, they have cared for several of our dogs. She was recommended for a spinal injury, which was successful and gave my Rat Terrier several more years and lived happily until 19 years old. We moved to Palm Beach, and we still go to ARRC. Every time, with a successful diagnosis and a happy pup when other doctors at good places can't figure out a good solution. Dr. Loser figures it out. She is amazing!

Dr. Loeser and her team are simply the best veterinary professionals you could ask for. Our dog lived 17.5 years thanks to their loving, integrative care. After our first few visits, she was never afraid to go there again… as if she knew she was visiting friends. I was always confident she was in good hands. AARC team, words can’t express how grateful we are to you for the gift of 17 years with our beloved Sandy. It still blows me away to think of how many times she had serious issues that you solved with simple dietary changes or holistic approaches like acupuncture. To see her bounce back felt like a miracle every time. I am so happy we stuck through with you despite your services staying curbside, because you simply are the best and it was 100% worth it. We completely understand why you did that and if it’s what’s best for you and your furry patients we support you all the way. Thank you so very much again. We will never forget how good you were to Sandy and we will be back when the time comes for our family to welcome our next pet.
