How to Save Money at VetNow Urgent Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My little chihuahua started having severe diarrhea, but since it was the weekend and I was out of town visiting family, there were no vets open. I rushed him here because it was a better drive than going near the nightmare 6 Mile Cypress and colonial roads in Ft Myers. It was a very nice drive and a very easy quick experience. They gave me diarrhea medicine to help my poor dog. The next day, he was lethargic and dehydrated, rushed him back there again, and they gave him a fluid injection with some butt ointment and anti nausea tablets. Also the price wasn't bad either. I can't thank you all enough! He is back to his old self and no more diarrhea! I am not stressed out anymore!

Staff were very pleasant and helpful when I called prior to going there. Once there the place was clean, rooms were clean and Kate was very welcoming and very nice. Dr. Flores was extremely nice & explained everything to us and willingly answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns. They also called me a couple days after our visit to see how our dog was doing, I thought that was very nice of them.

I can’t believe I started out feeling grateful to Vetnow because they were able to see my dog right away and on a Sunday no less. They even had very fair pricing. I went in after staying up all night with my sick dog. The vet was so insensitive and had no bedside manner. He barely did any exam and refused to listen to me about my dog’s symptoms. He spoke to his tech in front of me telling her that my dog had a tumor and it couldn’t be operated on. He was giving me the worst news possible but wasn’t even saying it to me! Well long story short she got antibiotics and it wasn’t a tumor! My dog is fine (which is awesome) but he had me crying and thinking I had to put her down. I would never recommend this place!!! The vet tech seemed nice but it doesn’t make up for the traumatic experience.

Our baby was so well taken care of! Thank you to Mikala, Kate, and Dr Flores for taking such great care of our Hailey. They were kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. We felt that we were in good hands. They answered all our questions and sent their paperwork to our usual vet.

If you LOVE YOUR FUR BABIES DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! We arrived 20 minutes before closing and the receptionist ask us what we wanted when we walked in? Excuse me we’re carrying our sick pet! We want to order a hamburger. She said we close in 20 minutes what do you need. After we decided this was not the place for our animal, the vet tech comes out of the building and says what’s do you need? Then turns around and locks the door 15 minutes before they close! Very sickening to know when your heart is hurting because of a sick pet you have to deal with people like this! You may want to get another profession if you don’t want to work past the 10:00 pm close time. I’m so disgusted with this place. So heartbroken for my for baby! If your staff were this mean to humans how do you think they would treat your fur baby?
