How to Save Money at Ranch Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I’ve been a client for over 10 years. They were compassion in their care and helped two of my Furbabies over the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Marks, Dawn and her team and awesome front desk ladies now care for Princess Sophia ( Pug) Thank you to everyone and I will continue to refer new clients. Tap picture…

Absolutely love this place and so does my dog. Not only is Dr. White and the staff amazing, super friendly, very loving and caring, I also love the more natural treatment options this Vet offers. This office took excellent care of my goldendoodle and let me tell you I am very picky but can only recommend this place.

I actually sought out Dr. Marks who had tended to my dog in the past for a second opinion on a condition that remains undiagnosed (cause of reverse sneezing). His knowledge, wonderful bed-side manner, and recommendations made the 2+ hour round trip so worth it. I highly recommend Ranch Animal Hospital and Dr. Marks in particular.

Beware of this place. Brought my new puppy here and they were to do a second health exam. Gave them the stool sample and they just threw it away did not test it and did not do a thorough exam. Then the next day my dog was severely sick. Brought her back and brought another stool sample and they testified it and she has Coccidia. Could have detected had they done the sample I brought in. Then they hit me with a $400 bill. They prescribed me azithromycin 30ml and 2ml twice a day for 7 days however they only gave me 15 ml so when I ran out I called and let them know and they insisted they gave me 30ml so I said I have the bottle and box. Then they went on to tell me I needed to pay for the second bottle 15ml even though my receipt says I got 30ml and was $46 which would be the price for 30ml and they are saying that I should go find another vet and are leaving my dog sick by not giving her the medicine that she needs need.

Dr. Ocean is hands down the BEST! Murphy is an anxious and scared little guy. We have been seeing Dr. Ocean and her staff for the last 5 years since we moved here. Murphy developed terrible allergies in the South. Dr. Ocean did everything to keep him happy and healthy. Sadly, my poor lil guy has a neurological issue that has cut his life short (he turns 10 today). Tuesday is his last day with me however (aggression, seizures, and incontinence took over). Dr. Ocean has been amazingly comforting and helpful through the entire end-of-life process (writing this now because I will be a mess Tuesday). I know my baby will be in my arms and leave with a happy heart as Dr. Ocean is one of the only humans he still loves outside of family! I will furever use Dr. Ocean with future pups of mine as well! Eternally grateful for her! Murphy and I thank you! ❤️🐾 P.S. Murphy's trip to the rainbow bridge was exactly how I wanted. Peaceful and full of love. Not enough words to thank Dr. Ocean! ❤️🌊🐾
