How to Save Money at Vetco Total Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

⚠️❌PLEASE READ❌⚠️ (false charges For procedures, not performed. Technician LYING About their name To avoid a report. scammed out of $$) Please, please, please, for the love of God do not go to this office office. Currently dealing with my lawyer and the American veterinary medical Association For complete malpractice. I came in with my four week old kitten, We had found him on the side of the road and wanted him dewormed and Get him a fecal test. It had been four days since we had him and he had not gone number two. After giving him the dewormer, After I specifically said, I wanted to call my mother and my primary care veterinarian after seeing the invoice before I made a decision. They returned to the room with my cat, and had already given him the dewormer. I was now forced to pay this bill. They told me that they would be collecting a fecal sample and that I would have to retrieve it and bring it into them and 24 hours after the sample is submitted. I will have results. I told them I could not get kitten to poop for four days and they returned five minutes later telling me that they were able to make him go. This was a complete LIE. I suspected that they were lying only because I am very experienced in kittens and I was shocked. They were able to make him go in under five minutes. He then proceeded to come home and the largest poop I’ve ever seen Kitten. They do not poop twice a day and especially not that much. I left it alone And I went to pay my bill, After repeating myself, maybe five times I told them that this was a scheduled free first appointment. I paid my bill and then they printed me the receipt, With a $65 charge For the vet visit, I told them that they just charged me for the visit that was supposed to be free and for about five minutes they argued with me that there was absolutely nothing that they could do about a refund and that they could absolutely not refund me. They offered to put $65 towards my next visit. After being skeptical that they got a fecal sample, it has now been well over two weeks, and the sample is now “”missing” After threatening to report the technicians, licensing number I was finally offered a refund for the fecal sample. For about two weeks, I have been trying to get in contact with them and they have promised me over and over that they will call me, I have been promised receipts in my email that I have never gotten, I finally called the office back just to get the name of the technician that saw my cat, AND THEY LIRD TO ME ABOUT THE TECHS NAME. I was told that Dr. Rubin’s first name was Elizabeth, This is a lie. Her name is carolyn And a quick licensing search confirmed that Along with address of practice.

Everyone in the clinic is very nice. I brought my furbaby here and the staff looked at her and took the time to give me and my daughter a thorough explanation of our babies health. I honestly have never seen a staff so hands on and willing to go the extra mile for my furbaby. I sincerely appreciate them and all they've done and continue to do. My daughter wants to be a veterinary and the tech spoke to her about their experiences working with animals and suggested routes for her achieve her goals.

Vetco is the best hands down!! From the time you walk in the receptionist to the vet tech just on top of it and compassionate to boot. My bird was having seizures and hasn't had once since they started her on medication. Thank you for the bottom of our hearts. Amazing to see vets that truly care for your pet and not racking up a large bill. So grateful for Vetco for all my pets.

She treated my fur babies with caring, calm, understanding respect, and answered all of my questions. Nala and Riley agree, she is our vet for LIFE at Petco!
