How to Save Money at Countryside Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The staff at Countryside are wonderful. Our first visit here last year was an emergency situation and they were more than accommodating. Her emergency surgery went well and she recovered nicely. Christine has been awesome and always does an wonderful job grooming Makena. Thank you so much for being so loving to our girl. This week's visit was the hardest as our sweet girl became sick quickly and was not doing well at all. The staff was very understanding with us and so gentle and compassionate with Makena. During our last moments with our beloved Makena, they made a very emotional and difficult time a little less stressful and gave us all the time we needed to love on her. Thank you for all you did for Makena and our family. We appreciate it so much.

We love country side! We bring our puppy Arlo here and they are always so kind and professional and I have never had a long wait for my appointment time. The rooms are clean and well maintained. We see Mark every appointment and he is so helpful and gentle with our Arlo and knowledgeable. He has given me many helpful tips on puppy training and care. Dr. Butler was so kind. Talking to her about my pups needs was so easy. She made me feel like we had been friends for years and educated me on our puppy breeds health concerns so we can take preventative measures. I would 100% recommend this facility.

Countryside is simply amazing!! I have a small dog that is very afraid of going to the vet. I would never bring him anywhere else. They always assure that all 3 of my dogs are well taken care of. I want to recognize Mark for his care for my dogs and his demeanor and understanding is exceptional. I am very greatful for all of the people that work here. The people that do the surgeries and the dental cleanings are amazing as well. Jamie really went out of her way to make me feel assured that my smallest dog would do fine with his surgery/dental cleaning. My dog seemed to feel very comfortable with her treatment and care. Thank you all for being an exceptional team!!!

Kind, caring and knowledgeable. We're there for 1 hour with 2 GSDs. Update...they held our hand when Jax had had enough from DM and we helped him over the rainbow bridge, that was 6 months ago. Today we lost Leyna, she had cancer, it was a surprise and very low chance of survival so they helped us with the decision to help Leyna cross over. Because it was a surprise, they allowed my husband to stay with Leyna in a room so my daughter and I could leave work to be there, to give Leyna love as she left this world. Thank you to the staff for all you've done.

For my "Exotic Pet," a SQUIRREL with metabolic bone disease (Back legs do not work, and feet twisted in.) Female -Dr. Buehler and her nurses do an amazing job with my little Tink-Tink! She gets regular teeth grinding and regular care. My squirrel was brought to me as a baby by our house cat. She was furry, but eyes were still closed. I bottle fed. I called All the local humane places for rehabilitation, & release. They said they would put her down. So I kept her, and took care of her. Now she's 1 yr 5 months old happy, spoiled, and her legs do not slow her down.
