How to Save Money at Veterinary Emergency Group
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
The Veterinary Emergency Group was fantastic! Their staff is fast, efficient, and very knowledgeable. My kitty was seen immediately, and an estimate was given to me within minutes. They are very thorough when it comes to invoicing your treatment. You will get a complete recommended treatment plan with estimates ranging from the lowest price to the possible highest price points. It is expensive but worth every cent. You can feel confident that they will work within the estimate you received when you arrived. The care that your pet will receive here is fantastic! This hospital allows you to come and go as needed while your pet is hospitalized. I had a private room twice while my cat received treatment. They wanted my little kitty to be comfortable while waiting on results and provided us both with a quiet space to wait in. The transitions between staff are flawless. This facility is incredibly tech-savvy! If your pet is hospitalized for more than a day and your team switches over, they will immediately come to greet you when you come to visit your pet, and they will be ready to give you an update. They treat your pet, learn their quirks, and pay attention to their progression while they are in their care. My kitty needed surgery; thankfully, she is recovering well. I was able to watch the surgery too. As a previous tech, this was an incredible opportunity. I've never seen another hospital offer this type of care. You get to hold your furry friend while they come out of anesthesia, which they will find very comforting. Once my little lady was out of surgery and placed in her kennel, I held her until she fell asleep. I was confident to go home then and get some much-needed rest. Overall, my experience was truly amazing! You will receive your final bill once your pet is ready to go home. If you have pet insurance (which I strongly recommend you get and always have), your invoice will be itemized so you can submit a claim to your insurance company. At this time, they do not work directly with insurance companies. Remember, great care is expensive; should your pet need care, I'd estimate bringing a credit card with at least $ 3K- $ 10K. My bill was around $8K. My pet's insurance plan covers 1/2 of my bill minus the price of the fee for the visit. The price posted reflects my personal experience to my pet's needs.

My baby Fiona swallowed a sleeping pill. I called the nearest vet to see if they could check her immediately and they all recommended me VEG, I live pretty far from this place but for my baby I would do anything. It was all worth it. They treated her like a princess, the whole crew was so nice and understanding, I have no words for these people. Jess, Raquel, Jackie, Kelsey and both doctors were outstandingly professional, human and lovely! We had to stay the night with Fiona, they provided us with blankets, chairs, chargers, coffee and even a spare laptop for us to watch a movie, they’re just incredible people. They saved my baby, and I’m so thankful for that.

This place and staff are very inviting. They all gave me the feeling that they were doing their best for my dog. Though the price was something I couldn't afford at the time, they did work with me by tailoring the treatments. Gave me instructions incase it worsens and at home medications. I was super happy with my visit and I'm sure my pup was too. They handled him with such care and talked us through the process, putting my mind a little more at ease. Honestly, I couldn't be more grateful for them, Thank you.

Absolutely amazing staff and services! I was referred from my primary vet for an emergency with my kitten. They were ready for me when I arrived with him and were able to get him stabilized. They also found a specialist and provided estimated pricing for the surgeon that he needed. I hope not to have emergencies of this nature again, but if I do I will definitely be going straight to VEG. Thank you so much for saving my kitten's life!!!

AMAZING!! My dog was critical on a Sunday. My Vet's office has a recording to come here in case of an Emergency, best decision. Dr. Lee and her staff got to work immediately explained thoroughly everything including cost. They broke down two estimates, first what is needed for a prognosis second if we wished to proceed. Dr. Lee & her staff explained very well our options. Very professional, precise & kind. Our dog Trinity's diagnosis was not a good one. My dog was comfortable at all times & so where we there was no rush & privacy during her last moments. Thank you VEG and Dr. Lee for an amazing experience during such a difficult time.
