How to Save Money at Crossroads Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Cannot recommend this vet enough! Whole staff from desk team, to vet techs, to docs are all so kind and great to work with. Pricing is very good for the area as well. I saved over 250 dollars getting my pup’s dental work done compared to my old vet and his smile is amazing! They have been incredibly compassionate and kind to my shy aussie as well. This will absolutely be my go to vet as long as I am in northern Colorado.

This vet office is fantastic. The staff is very friendly. They treat our dog like their own and do a great job of taking care of him. Me and my wife highly recommend this place if you want to bring your pet to be taking care of the right way.

Every visit is an adventure for our pup! Dr Katie is amazing and you won't find a better veterinarian around. She is very helpful and creates an environment for our nervous pup where she feels comfortable. Also, she clearly cares about animals and about our Sadie (pup). Dr Katie has helped us for years and we followed her from her last practice where she helped Sadie lose (and keep off!) 20 lb! This was achieved by a switch she recommended in her diet and plenty of veggies as fillers. I truly don't know what we would have done or would do without the Doc. The staff at reception and their techs are professional, funny and pleasant, and easy to speak with. Their office also features the availability to text messages for all of those millennials that don't want to pick up the phone to make a phone call. The facility is clean and comfortable as well. I highly recommend Crossroads Animal Hospital for their professional experience and loving dedication to perfection in animal care. Seriously... Stop looking around and set an appointment with Dr Katie and let your pet enjoy the 5 ⭐ experience at Crossroads... You won't be sorry!

Dr. Allie and her team are incredible, and we've had nothing but positive experiences at Crossroads Animal Hospital. My husband and I have brought our dog here several times over the last year, twice for a checkup and once for a tooth extraction. The checkups are always efficient, pleasant and informative, and when Dr. Allie performed the tooth extraction she and her vet techs were all unbelievably attentive and compassionate. Every member of staff is always so kind, and they provide an organized, clean and tranquil environment which is especially helpful for nervous dogs like ours. With such fantastic service, you'd expect prices to be through the roof, but that's not the case --- the rates at Crossroads are very reasonable, even compared to "budget" clinics run by big box stores. All that is to say I can't recommend Crossroads Animal Hospital highly enough, and we'll never take our pets anywhere else.

I am over the moon about my experience with this vet. I had taken my cat to another vet when she started having really bad diarrhea with blood in it. The other vet told me she was fine and tried to sell me on all sorts of unrelated stuff (some I bought just in case it would help. It didnt.) After some time of the continued issue, I looked for a new vet hoping to find one with 5 stars. That's how I found this. And honestly, I wish they could have 6 stars! Not only did they find what was wrong with her stomach (which has since been treated and she is better with) but they also found an ear infection where the other vet just said she had too much wax in. Even at 8 in the morning, these ladies were bright and cheerful and welcoming. They were kind and informative and have made me feel like they truly care for my pet as if she were their own. I even heard them talking outside of the room at one point about how they loved her and she was cute. It brightened my morning. On top of that they are really affordable in terms of vets. The general visit was 68$ and for an extensive stool testing (I had an option of a quicker 50$ test but i opted for the 130$ something test without any pressure/fear sales tactic from them), ear testing and 2 different medication it was about 200$ I will never go to another vet as long as I live in Colorado. Also, look at the cute picture they took of my fur baby, Nephylis! 12/10 do recommend
