How to Save Money at Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I have a 3 year old Papillon (Alfie) and have taken him to numerous groomers in the past and because he has the unique ears, tail and legs with this breed, I have had bad luck with these areas being respected with their grooming UNTIL NOW !!!! **RAYANE** has groomed him a couple times now and not only does she do it "Perfectly", he loves her attention and gentleness. I couldn't be more thrilled to have found a groomer who understands the uniqueness of certain breeds & gives the perfect cut etc. Additionally - her nail cuts/grind are the best and shorter then anyone else has done (my legs are happy). I will be a lifetime customer of hers! Thank you for hiring such a sweet, talented young lady. :)

So... I have had a 5 star experience before. Then after a couple years, with pricing/pandemic etc, I noticed the customer service started to go away. I set an appointment over a month ago for a routine check up and shots. Mistakenly went to the vet down the street and when I had shown up to the correct location (12 minutes late), the customer service rep had to inform me that their policy was anything later than 10 min. The place was EMPTY... the lights were not even turned on yet! She explained to me how she had to ask the techs if it would still be ok. I looked around at the empty, lifeless lobby, and told her not to bother. I get the policy... but the place is literally empty, as I was the first customer, or one of... at 7:42am. Just kind of made me realize that customer care IS a real thing. Don't have to ask me twice. If you can't bend, neither will the customer.

We've been taking our dog here since 2018 when he got really sick with Addisons. The staff and docs used to take him with care and he didn't get stressed out with them like he had with other vets prior to the switch. Unfortunately the care just started going downhill in the last year and a half. I used to take him myself but my sister started bringing him in for his monthly shots so we were unaware that the clinic had been transitioned over to another owner. Explains why his care had fallen as well. We were constantly told to bring him in for a wellness check but no answers or solutions, just more and more expensive bills. I brought him this time and noticed how stressed out he was after the staff handling. After the 2nd wellness check, they said he needed his rabies and that they would consider this visit his wellness and we wouldn't need to do another one the next month. Well the next month rolls around and of course it's constant emails about getting him for his annual wellness and shots. I already paid for 2 "wellness checks" and multiple tests with no answers or solutions. After that I was done and fed up. I wish they could do better but it was worth finding another vet. Not to mention the annoying constant texts and emails to schedule appointments which pushed me over even more. Clearly they need patients. I hope they improve.

Had an appointment with Caring Hands Hospital this week for my cat. Was excited to finally be able to get in and get him checked up, as well as establish a new vet as he is new owned to me by a year. Walked in, had a stroller cat carrier. (Cat carrier on wheels). I was struggling getting the doors open as I was by myself, and the two ladies at the front of the desk were watching me. They laughed and mocked me before I even spoke or talked to them. (Not expected), but they did not help with the door or try to assist me in any way. It took me about five minutes to get into the building from my car. Within this time I surpassed the 10 minute appointment mark (thus needing to reschedule). They asked someone in the back if they would still take me and unfortunately said no. I heard people talking about their day to day lives in the back and nobody was waiting. I did call to let them know I was arriving late but got an automated message. I told them my cat goes into respiratory distress, is traumatized by carrier and vet and spoils himself before even getting to vet and that i would really appreciate it if i could squeeze in as to not cause my cat anymore stress. Soonest appointment was in a month. I told them I have concerns of a UTI and I would really appreciate it if they could get me in sooner and they recommended me to try somewhere else. No accommodations, care, or sympathy given. Rude service desk woman. Vet hospitals should have workers who care and love animals, are happy to see them and appreciate when owners love them and give them everything they can. That is not the vibe this place gives off at all. 2 workers seem unhappy and like they were just ready to go home.

We had a great first experience with this vet! Two of my pets are anxious and all of the professionals that we worked with were calm and patient. All three fur babies had successful first visits. We're so glad we found Caring Hands!
