How to Save Money at Denver Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
There are not enough words to describe how happy and grateful I am that this is the establishment where my dog receives care. From the front desk crew such as Voss and Heather, to the techs, Joanna, Pam, and Jess, to my dogs vet Dr.Casey! This team genuinely cares about my pet. I have been taking my dog (Princess Leia) since she was a pup. She is now 7 and since then she has grown up at this place LOVES being here. From teeth cleanings/extractions, to buying dog food for her dietary needs, Denver Animal hospital is there for what ever we need. Most recently my dog had a gastro emergency and the team took care of her for 2 days straight without any appointments and without question. Their care is so personalized and specific to our needs. When Princess Leias elder sister Aspen passed away in January it was a tough time for me and my family, and the whole team sent us the most beautiful and thoughtful card expressing their condolences. You honestly cannot put a price on the love and care these professionals have for their pet clients. I will always take my pet here knowing she will be in not only the most knowledgeable, but also the most loving hands. If you are looking for a place that truly cares about your pets well being, Denver Animal Hospital is the place for you. (Run, don’t walk)

I loved taking my dog here. They were reasonably priced and very kind and professional. My dog is now happy and healthy after visiting here. ☺️ So glad someone recommended this place after I couldn't make an appointment with my current vet! I definitely think I would take my dog here if it was closer to where I live. I am happy an opening was available when I called since it was kind of an emergency situation for my dog!

Wonderful veterinary clinic/experience!!! We have been taking our dog and cat to Denver Animal Hospital since we got them 4 and 2 years ago. We have seen all the vet's, and most of the techs during our past visits, and I can honestly say they are ALL wonderful. They were super patient and kind when our dog was terrified to be at the vet. They squeezed us in to the schedule when something urgent came up. They don't over prescribe or over sell procedures. And they take their time and engage with both animals and humans. I've worked in (human) healthcare my whole career, and have always believed that if the front office staff are kind, respectful and engaging, it speaks volumes to the quality, calibre, and professionalism of the medical staff. This group cares about all animals. We are moving abroad, and I am so sad to move on from Denver Animal Hospital. They are truly best in class.

I strongly recommend this veterinary practice. We are new to town and I took my dog Arnold here due to its rave reviews so I'm pleased to add my own. Arnold started getting a lot of anxiety at the vet following a series of unfortunate events, (vet cut the quick on his first nail trimming, I wasn't allowed in with him during covid,) and his vets sort of took a "hands-on" approach of holding him down to get shots, etc. So, now, he's so anxious about the vet. We have had two visits--neither time were they able to get blood drawn/do a physical exam however they were EXTREMELY successful in demonstrating this staff's commitment to kind care. I didn't feel ashamed of myself or him for his anxiety and felt their intentions were to make the experience comfortable for him rather than just getting it over with. I was also really impressed that they did not charge for either attempt at examining him--that is so considerate and cool of them. I have been bummed out for a while that Arnold's vets won't know what an amazing boy he is but I feel this team really understands that anxiety happens, even in our most loyal pet companions. All said and done, I absolutely recommend this team to care for your loved ones, (feline, canine, what have you.)

We have to say after taking our other dogs to other Veterinarians in the area, this staff went above and beyond to work with us and Penny! What amazing staff! Thank you for making a frustrating situation so easy and delightful. Our dog is reactive and we weren’t sure how she was going to handle going to the Vet. Some Vets told us they wouldn’t take her, because she was reactive. Although, this staff took her, worked with us to get her into a room, and LOVED her! Thank you, thank you, thank you! If you need a great place to take your pet…Don’t look any farther than Denver Animal Hospital. They are reasonably priced and a FANTASTIC staff!
