How to Save Money at Faithful Friends Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Took our 12 week old German Shepherd Puppy here. First time being here. The staff was amazing!!! Super friendly and didn't rush our appointment. Prices were decent. Communication back and forth was awesome! They treated us like family and not like a number. Thank you for making this such a awesome experience for me as well as my son.

It is a very nice place, I felt well cared for from the moment I spoke with them on the phone. I have been looking for a long time for a place like Faithful Friends Animal Hospital where they are really interested in what happens with my pets and take care of us with love and kindness and they did it, in addition to the Veterinary Doctor in charge of my dog and her assistant , they explained to me in detail the studies, results and treatment to follow. I am totally grateful to all the staff who work there, I definitely recommend it and of course if my pets need to be cared for Faithful Friends Animal Hospital will be the place we will go to again without thinking twice. Sincerely. Viridiana Gutierrez

Our puppy ended up getting very sick between 3-4 months of age and we almost lost her. Faithful Friends was able to get her in and seen immediately and on the right track. We had multiple visits and saw multiple vets and vet techs due to the nature of the illness and they were all wonderful as well as the front desk staff. Our Oaklee was treated like a celebrity. They should get more than 5 stars based solely on dealing with me because I was a wreck. Luckily we have had no recurrences and our sweet girl is now almost 8 1/2 months old and about 90 pounds and thriving! Thank you Faithful Friends!

I wish this wasn't a negative review, but I feel like others should beware, considering we are entrusting them with our fur babies lives. I have never felt so let down and disappointed as I am with Faithful Friends Animal Hospital. I brought my sweet 10 year old Australian Shepherd in last Monday because she was exhibiting signs of discomfort and I felt a hard lump in her abdominal region. After tests were run, it came back that she had a cancer of some sort but they needed a radiologist to look at it to determine exactly what it was. On Tuesday, I got the call that it was Hemangiosarcoma, a progressive blood cell cancer that had metastasized to the spleen and liver. They said they would give me a few days to think about everything and would be in contact before the end of the week to discuss how to move forward. Let me add, when I brought her in for her annual check up in May of 2023, the vet was extremely apprehensive about touching her and didn't perform an actual physical exam, just simply talked to me and asked if I had any concerns. Had she performed a physical exam, it's possible it could have been caught at that time and could have had plenty of time to explore other options and have a very different outcome. On Wednesday, my dog was exhibiting some very concerning symptoms so I called Faithful Firends and asked for some guidance. They simply told me to get her to the ER vet because they thought she was bleeding out. I followed their instructions and went to North Springs Veterinary Referral Center who did provide amazing treatment for her. They were able to give me a ton of information and were extremely detailed, all of which did not happen with Faithful Friends. They treated her and she was able to come back home with me. I called Faithful Friends on Thursday with a question about one of the medications and again was not given proper information and was simply told that if she is tolerating it well, to go ahead and increase the dosage. They did not ask anything about how she was doing or ask if I even took her to the ER the evening prior. They never called me before the end of the week as I was told they would to further discuss her options or how to move forward. They did nothing. Her symptoms got worse Saturday evening and by Sunday it was clear the cancer had taken over and it was time. We ended up bringing her back to the ER vet Sunday evening and had her humanely euthanized. I have still not heard a word from Faithful Friends. What made it so much worse is her cancer could have been detected and would have had many more options had she gotten a proper exam back in May. This whole experience I just went through with them was extremely unprofessional and absolutely devastating. Do not trust your fur babies lives with them, I unfortunately made that mistake. Never again.
