How to Save Money at Red Hill Animal Health Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Thank goodness for Red Hill Animal Health Center. Dr Breeland (and her daughter, who was her wonderful helper for the day) literally saved our dog, Bella's life. We brought Bella in very early in the morning, barely able to breathe and left with her at the end of the day on the road to recovery. We can't thank this establishment, and Dr. Breeland enough for helping our little girl out in her time of need. If we could recommend Red Hill Animal Health Center higher than 5 stars, we would. HIGHLY recommend it here.

I found myself in an awful situation. I live in NY and was visiting Colorado. My 5 year old chihuahua went in to respiratory distress on a Sunday Night before July 4th, a Tuesday. We visit Colorado frequently, but her vet was closed for the Holiday. I spent all night calling vets and "on call" vets to only get voice mails. My dog was in very bad shape. (Note: she had an xray in NY before I left and I was told she was "ok." I never should have listened.) After being up all night we got in the car and drove to Red Hill. They opened at 7am. I was in tears. I walked in and two women greeted me and took my dog and assured me she was in a good place and in good hands. Dr. Breeland would become her vet. She took charge and gave thorough explanation for everything that she was doing for my dog. At that point she had no records. She only had what I was telling her while my NY vet sent her the records she needed. This office saved my dogs life. Dr Breeland arranged for my dog to have overnight care at VEPC with Dr. Ali (review to follow-also excellent.) Red Hill and Dr Breeland are a permanent fixture for my little girl going forward. It was a terrible circumstance but im so grateful that we found them.

Red Hill Animal is nothing short of amazing! I did significant research for finding a place for our two dogs to stay while we stayed with friends in the Aspen area. This is highly recommended by the locals and I see why. Upon our first visit and interactions the staff was attentive and intuitive about our dogs. We spent 15 minutes talking thru the quirks and specifics of our animals along with any relevant medical history. We did the VIP boarding which includes a daily email, playtime and personalized exercise. My only suggestion, would to be to receive daily photos or videos or your animals. The daily email is a bit soft for what I would expect for a VIP experience. Thank you for loving our special pets and they had an amazing experience!

If I could give you a rating of 100, I would! Julia is amazing with all types of animals, but especially my 'special case' of a malamute Ms. Echo. Mals can be a bit unique in their moods, yet Julia can navigate them and has trained the team to navigate them as well. I also know that Ms. Echo will receive her proper medications and food to keep her healthy, I have the utmost trust in Red Hill and I thank everyone there, most especially Julia!

My dog goes to doggy daycare here regularly and also sees Dr. May. The kennel staff is amazing with him. He can be temperamental and they did a great job of easing him into playtime when he first started going years ago. Dr. May always gives us different options for treatment, listens, and answers questions. The entire staff is very professional and accommodating to both humans and dogs. I am so grateful to have such an awesome vet and kennel in town!
