How to Save Money at PetVet365 Pet Hospital Denver/Somerset

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Awesome place and people. I've never been at a vets office where they truly care about your dogs mental Health as well as their physical health. The fact that they want to build a relationship with my dog to make her comfortable with them and will do what's necessary to do that is amazing. Love the pet package they offer as well, makes taking care of your pets health much more affordable.

Do not recommend this vet to anybody. The lady pictured makes inappropriate racial comments. I am mad at myself for not telling her how inappropriate that comment was. I should have reported it to her boss. But I was clearly in an anxious state worried about my dog. I brought in my chihuahua named Jose for neck problems and she makes inappropriate comments such as , “what type of name is Jose. Does he come from the border of Mexico” and says it in an accent, as if she is mimicking. I believe that is totally inappropriate and unprofessional for a person to say to a patient. My daughter and I just looked at eachother in disbelief that she had the courage to say such things. Especially to a patient of Latino descent. I also brought my other chihuahua in and they basically tortured her to the point she was shaking. They are all about “peaceful” environment but I could hear my dog crying in pain from them trying multiple times to stick a needle in her neck. If it doesn’t work the first few times, stop pressuring the dog. It was horrible to hear her in pain, i have never heard her cry like that until we took her there. We also brought a lost dog to check if he has a chip and the same lady in the picture acted like she didn’t want to help /giving attitude because it was almost time to close. These people aren’t animals lovers, they’re greedy and all they care about is money. They obviously hire their staff from the bottom of the barrel. I switched veterinarians immediately after these incidents happened. I am never coming here if this was the last choice. Reply to comment : It’s called using a different name and I definitely brought my dogs there. It’s the clinic on Mississippi and Buckley in Safeway parking lot. I am NOT taking this review down because it happened and I have every right to post my experience here. 🤣 Saying that it’s the wrong clinic is ridiculous and searching for me in your system is even crazier . If you have a problem, don’t hire racist workers. I don’t want a veterinarian that is involved with your clinic

Amazing experience. My 13 year old fur baby was having issues not eating and at that age you tend to panic I called & they got me right in within 1/2 an hour … they checked everything out and I left so relieved with their very thorough examination of him … he goes in this morning to get his teeth cleaned 😊 I have found his new vet and I am going to be bringing my 5 year old Aussie mix to them as well. The whole place is wonderful, the exam room with no scary metal table and getting down on the pets level is amazing. Much thanks ~ the cooper family

The care givers at PetVet365 really sprung into action when I brought my dogs in after my 1 year old Kaia and 3 year old Onyx was attacked by another dog. They performed out patient surgery that day on Kaia and provided her with a lot of love and attention. The Dr. noticed Onyx had and ear infection right when he seen him. Thank you PetVet365 on Mississippi and Buckley!

I have a 10 year-old spicy kitty. I have to say, this was the most comfortable and chill vet experience we have had. The environment is relaxing, the staff is caring, and the prices are fair. Very happy to have found this place.
