How to Save Money at PetVet365 Pet Hospital Aurora/Somerset

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This vet clinic really did surpass my expectations!! The vet tech got my boy up on the scale by offering whipped cream in a Kong, so clever! The vet techs and Veterinarian were so helpful and kind and took the time addressing any questions or concerns I had. I’m so happy I saw this clinic from driving in the shopping plaza. We got our own cozy suite that wasn’t sterile and boring like most conventional vet offices. Absolutely recommend 110%!!

This is my second review of PetVet365. We now have a baby kitty that we bring in along with our two dogs. We have always had a great experience here and everyone is super friendly! We also set up our new kitty on one of their VIP plans! It’s so far saved us money on visits and her shots. Love that her first year of visits is covered in a month plan! I highly recommend bringing your pets here. They will take great care of them!

I had an excellent experience at this vet clinic! One of the things I appreciated most was not having to sit in a crowded waiting room with stressed animals—it's such a relief to avoid that chaos. The exam rooms are warm, comfortable, and inviting, which made my pet feel more at ease. The doctor and the technician were both incredibly attentive, taking the time to listen to all of my concerns and addressing each one thoughtfully. They really made sure to come up with a clear and reasonable plan for our pet’s care, which made me feel confident in their expertise. Their communication is top-notch, and I really appreciated the follow-up after the visit to ensure everything was going well. Though their prices are higher than our previous vet, the superior care and the less stressful experience for my pet, along with the excellent communication, make it well worth the investment. I highly recommend this clinic for anyone seeking top-quality care for their pets!

Do not recommend this vet to anybody. The lady pictured makes inappropriate racial comments. I am mad at myself for not telling her how inappropriate that comment was. I should have reported it to her boss. But I was clearly in an anxious state worried about my dog. I brought in my chihuahua named Jose for neck problems and she makes inappropriate comments such as , “what type of name is Jose. Does he come from the border of Mexico” and says it in an accent, as if she is mimicking. I believe that is totally inappropriate and unprofessional for a person to say to a patient. My daughter and I just looked at eachother in disbelief that she had the courage to say such things. Especially to a patient of Latino descent. I also brought my other chihuahua in and they basically tortured her to the point she was shaking. They are all about “peaceful” environment but I could hear my dog crying in pain from them trying multiple times to stick a needle in her neck. If it doesn’t work the first few times, stop pressuring the dog. It was horrible to hear her in pain, i have never heard her cry like that until we took her there. We also brought a lost dog to check if he has a chip and the same lady in the picture acted like she didn’t want to help /giving attitude because it was almost time to close. These people aren’t animals lovers, they’re greedy and all they care about is money. They obviously hire their staff from the bottom of the barrel. I switched veterinarians immediately after these incidents happened. I am never coming here if this was the last choice. Reply to comment : It’s called using a different name and I definitely brought my dogs there. It’s the clinic on Mississippi and Buckley in Safeway parking lot. I am NOT taking this review down because it happened and I have every right to post my experience here. 🤣 Saying that it’s the wrong clinic is ridiculous and searching for me in your system is even crazier . If you have a problem, don’t hire racist workers. I don’t want a veterinarian that is involved with your clinic
