How to Save Money at Pet Palace Vet Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Awesome specialist, doctor G is the best vet I've seen in the US. I recommend them a 100%. My cat's showing signs of improvement shortly after the visit. Quick diagnostics. Blood test took about 30 minutes and all the results were presented to me right there on the first visit. I wish hospitals and labs here could do the same for humans. My 14-year-old cat is walking like a young cat again. Osteoarthritis and old age can't be cured (yet), but the treatment sure makes his life better. I can tell he's in much less pain now. Thank you!

Been here with my cat and one of my dogs, both experiences were absolutely amazing. Highly affordable, thorough care. They even took my pup in for an emergency to receive extensive stitches and they did a beautiful job! Greyhounds can have issues with anesthesia and bleeding but this vet is very well experienced and she came out after with beautiful work done that healed amazing. She was not even bothered by her stitches and tenet gave us great recommendations to help the healing. I have absolutely found my vet with Pet Palace. Thank you!!!

We wanted to Thank You Dr.G for saving our dog! Three months ago at another vet clinic we got bad news that our 18 months old dog has very serious congenital liver disease. We went to see some internal medicine specialist, which gave us very scary prognosis and that we are looking around $15K on treatment, including surgery and no guarantee of good prognosis. We heard many good things from our many friends and coworkers about Dr.G. We started treatment with him. He was always very knowledgeable and attentive, caring. After month and a half of the treatment , our dog is healthy and happy again! We did not have to do liver surgery or for us to spend so much time and money! Thank You so much to Dr. G! For all his quality of knowledge and care! Special Thank You to Santa and all his clinical staff! They are all very experienced, professional and friendly!

Philip haas neglected my cat and has been found guilty by the veterinary board of Colorado for neglecting my cat. His actions resulted in the death of my cat. He refused to treat my cat whose blood sugar was 600+ and my cat was in the clinic from morning til at least 7PM. They refused to give me my cat for at least another hour. They only gave him lactated ringers not even insulin! They only gave him insulin when it was time for me to take him home!!!! He had labored breathing and Philip haas neglected to check it or take it seriously. Due to his actions I had to take my cat to the ER where he was in critical condition. Philip haas committed malpractice and he was negligent. To save your animals life take them elsewhere. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!!

Great place, was recommended by a friend who takes his dog there (shown in picture). The doc’s bedside manner can be a little rough, but he’s a good vet and gave my cat Hendrix his vaccinations and checkup while being professional. They also don’t grift you for pet care here, most vets I’ve been too are overpriced and not very personal (felt more like an oil change than a vet visit). Their prices beat any vet I’ve found so far.
