How to Save Money at Pets Eternal Rest
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We've had two previous experiences of having our dogs euthanized in our home. In our opinion, there is no other way. This gives the animal and the owners, the most comfortable, positive, loving experience. We give Dr. Cheryl Ramos 10 stars for the care that she gave us and our 12 year old, 8lb Chihuahua Terrier Poodle mix dog, Ringo today. Dr. Ramos was professional with her communication via text and face to face. Most of all, she was so caring, compassionate and kind with my wife and I as well as our dog Ringo. My wife is a hospice nurse and knows about the type pf bedside manner people in our situation deserve and need. Dr. Ramos was right on point with ALL OF IT! We felt so comfortable with her and we felt that Ringo received excellent care from her. She was so loving towards all of us. We were all in good hands with Dr. Ramos. She explained the process step by step. She gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes to Ringo. We never felt rushed. Everything went smoothly and naturally. It really was a beautiful way for Ringo to transition. We had him on his favorite couch outside next to our koi pond. We had meditation music on. Ringo had on his favorite sweater and his passports to heaven. We will be recommending Dr. Ramos to EVERYBODY! She has been doing this for 30 years and in our opinion, she is the BEST of the BEST. We will keep calling on her for all of our animals.

I would give Dr Ramos 10 stars if I could. I had one of the toughest week of my life , after setting the appointment to put my 15 year old dog down. I was filled with doubts, stress, sadness , guilt , basically all of the grieving emotions. When I met Dr Ramos I instantly felt at ease. Her professionalism, caring, and compassionate ways really made one of the hardest times a little easier. She helped me feel at peace with my decision and I believe my dog and my kids needed that. I was calm so my kids were also calm and was able to be there as well for our dog’s last breath. Today I picked up his ashes and more sadness came, but I felt comfort knowing Dr Ramos and her team took great care of him. I’m so grateful for this experience with Dr Ramos and I would 1000 % recommend her to anyone. 👍🏽👍🏽

My family and I cannot even begin to thank Cheryl for her loving and kind ways. We had to send our Lola off to a better place on Saturday and Cheryl was a complete angel. She did us a huge favor by coming to our house on a Saturday as one of our sons had to fly home. She normally does not work the weekend as she has her own family. She explained the entire process beforehand and during the procedure. It was the most beautiful experience all around. She gave us our space to say our goodbyes and she was so tender and loving. If you have to make the awful decision to put your pet to rest then really don’t look anywhere else. What a lovely woman!!
