How to Save Money at Animal Emergency Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My dog was brutally attacked by another dog. Her top canine teeth were halfway ripped out while she tried to defend herself. Her cheek was punctured as well as a deep puncture to her thigh. Of course it was after regular vet hours. The compassion they showed to us and our dog was so sweet. They explained exactly what she needed and why. When I picked her up the next morning I was given her entire surgical chart and instructions. A couple days later I got a call just to see how she was doing and if I had any questions or concerns A lot of people might balk at the cost of an emergency vet, but these are people that are there all night do surgeries in the middle of the night to save people's animals. They saved my Fiona and I will be forever grateful.

First off I want to say thank you to the staff and the doctor. They were amazing. They took excellent care of my dog. The wait was long, but they kept coming out and checking on him. They didn’t just leave you in the waiting room and not check on your for babies. The price was reasonable with what happened to my dog? I definitely recommend anybody going there. It’s amazing. Thank you again

My 12 week old puppy injured his eye while I was at work. I brought him straight into AEC and was seen within 30 minutes of arrival. I was.concerned the little guy would lose his eye. The vet on call examined him, prescribed him eye drops to be administered every 4 hours and pain medication, then told me to follow up with my primary care vet. Two days later and his eye is 100% better! My bill was reasonable and I had no problem paying for it. Today, as I was driving home, I received a call from the vets office, inquiring about Snoop Dog's eye and his well being. They were just doing a well check on him. I was happy to tell them that Snoop was recovering nicely, thanks to their care. I've used this vet before and have always been very happy with their services and level of care. I recommend them for any emergency after hours. They have top communication when your animal has to stay over night. Thank you, AEC!! You saved the day (or night), again!!

We have had to use Animal Emergency Clinic twice for our rescue animals and both times their bedside manner has been impeccable. Everyone has been so kind and loving to every person and animal coming through the doors. We highly recommend AEC for your emergency needs for your pet.

Thank you to the staff here. You have the hardest job! Everyone was so kind and helpful. You were so busy when I arrived, but you always made sure to acknowledge me. When my daytime vet is closed, I will not take my animals anywhere else. This trip, my puppy had an injured leg. The first time I needed your services, unfortunately, my handsome Blue had passed away. This is the case for many visiting. Thank you for what you do.
