How to Save Money at Inland Valley Veterinary Specialists
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Our regular vet was closed when our 8 month toy poodle 6 pound was going into anaphylactic shock when he was stung by a bee around 7:30 PM right on the nose but I didn’t know and he couldn’t lift his head and he was all swollen and they took him in immediately. They didn’t make him wait they were in the midst of crisis another dog had passed away, and yet they still gave my Prince Kylio great love and attention, and they saved his little puppy life. I will be forever grateful.❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

This vet is the worst ever. Like, I literally contacted them tonight to ask for advice on what to do regarding my pet ingesting onion rings, and they told me I would need to come in to get her checked out by the doctor. I said I wasn't going to pay for a poison control consultation over the phone which is $100, might as well come in to have my pet be checked by a doctor and spend the $150 for the initial check up. I told them I would bring her in, which I did. I called when I got there because the door was locked. Waited a good while before a woman came to the door and told me the doctor wouldn't see my pet unless I call animal poison control back and get their advice, that they would charge me the $150 to check my dog out and spend another God know what to have my pet stay the night over to monitor her. Why would I spend $100 just for poison control to tell me to bring her in and then still spend the $150 for the check up and another +$$$ they charge me for the night stay?!? They basically rejected seeing my dog tonight unless I call and spend $100 for an animal poison control consult that will just suggest I take my dog to the emergency room anyway which I'm already at. I'm completely baffled by the lack of care and sincerity this place showed tonight on Father's Day. There was literally no one there except us waiting outside the building waiting to be seen. Will never come back to this place. They wasted my time and showed me animal workers only care about their pockets. Lazy af and insincere! Hope this place goes under before this decade is out 👍🏽

If I can give this place -0 stars I literally would WOST PLACE EVER DENIED SERVICE TO MY DOG JUST BECAUSE ONE OF THE NURSES knows us from the dog park but long story short due to us trying to get her to get her dog from biting my puppy she still had to courage to ask my spouse if he was the man from the park SO UNPROFESSIONALLY making the situation so awkward to the point where I can’t even trust her with my dog . They had my husband waiting over 3 hours just to deny service to him and provided him with just medication because the doctor was so determined to have my dog put asleep “long enough for them to do what they had to do.” Now think abt that weird creepy statement after being approached by a nurse that you know feels some type of way. Trying to say my dog is aggressive when they didn’t even try helping him in any type of way because even my spouse gave different opinions to maybe help and calm soothe my dog but they still DENIED . Then she send a doctor and the doctor said it was going to be simple procedures saying anesthesia nor putting him to sleep was necessary and ended up bringing me a whole list of different things she never mentioned resulting in $2400 just to do 1 simple stitch WOSRT PLACE WAIST OF MONEY AND TIME matter a fact they provided me with a wrong documentation trying to charge me for else what that ain’t mine . They’re suppose to be health care providers and they can’t even keep people information safe because as mentioned they gave me documentation of someone else and out of respect I won’t post the picture or name because I DO KNOW HOW TO RESPECT PEOPLES OPINIONS AND PRIVACY

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! 🩵 🐾 brought my Frenchie here at 1am ON A HOLIDAY. I won’t lie, I was a bit nervous after reading reviews about being charged ridiculous money. I guess we shouldn’t believe all we read right? My pup got X-rays, medication, etc and I was less than $600. Not only was it cost effective, but the staff were amazing. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. You all saved me so much money, time & my pup is back to 100% 🩵
