How to Save Money at ABC Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Our family has used this vet since we moved into area. Recently the primary vet retired. Sad to see that happen. New owners/Vet had raised prices, decreased service and availability. Now we are looking for a new Vet. Worst phone experience ever. Had called for an appointment but none available and placed on hold. Waited almost an hour and no answer. Called on another line and helped immediately while still on hold. This happened more than once. Prescription prices were really high we ended up going to Costco to get them filled.

I scheduled an appointment at 1:00 PM I went there 5 minute earlier. First they ha recepcionista that don’t care about customers. Finally I check in and she ask me to sit and wait. By one she took us to the a room. She check the weight of my dog and left. After 30:00 minutes waiting she return and ask what do we need I explained and left. 20 minutes later I went outside and ask how long I have wait. She ignored me at first but when I raised my voice she said soon. I ask how soon and ignored me again. I had to left. I respect their time showing on time! I demand respect from them too.

Horrible ! They are under new ownership and the new Veterinarian is extremely rude and unprofessional. He will quote you a price have you sign it and then manipulate the numbers. He has zero communication skills, I would never ever trust that doctor with my pet. If I could give it zero stars I would . Pet Owners beware they are not under the same owner as before !!!!

Cosmo the cat was 18 years old. He couldn't walk anymore, and it was time. ABC was so kind and understanding. Letting us stay with him, to the last moments. The whole experience was so peaceful for Cosmo and us.🐱♥️

We regularly bring our dog here ever since he was a puppy until now that he’s 3 years old. I noticed sometimes that our dog’s file is not ready during his appointment coz they would keep asking a lot of questions regarding his name, owner name etc. I ignored that though. But yesterday just reached my limit and decided not to bring him there anymore. They have given him a Bordetella vaccine that he was just given on June 23, 2023. That’s just about a month ago. They were even gonna give him an Influenza shot also if they have the medication on stock when he already had it on January 2023 and that’s just a yearly thing. My mom brought my dog at this facility yesterday for his gland expression; also to ask them for an updated copy of his vaccine record that we need for our sitter and also asked them to give whatever vaccine that he needs to do to stay updated. They should know better what vaccine to give him coz I assume it’s protocol to check on their client’s file and record. I noticed about it upon comparing the previous receipts and from the itemized receipt they have given my mom yesterday . So I called them ASAP and informed them of my concern, the lady who answered the phone named Elizabeth put me on hold for a minute and told me that there’s nothing to worry about. I had to explain to her that they should have checked the record first before giving my dog whatever vaccine. I also told her that they were also gonna give him Influenza even if he had it already in January coz they weren’t checking his record. She said it’s a miscommunication. She said that they based what they have given my dog on the old vaccine record that my mom showed them dating Sept 2022. Dogs may be just animals to them but for some people, they are their family, they too are like humans. You don’t just give a person a shot without checking first for their allergy, for the right medication, right dose, time etc. Follow the 6 rights of medication. There was no apology from them at all. They charged me for that vaccine, not even offering to take it off, no apology, no remorse at all for the stress they have caused me. And when my husband went there today to ask for the updated vaccine record, they omitted to put the Bordetella that was given yesterday on my dog’s record. Smh! Don’t go to this facility!
