How to Save Money at Peaceful Paws Veterinary Services
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We had to use Peaceful Paws twice in 10 months for our 17 and 18 year old men. What a beautiful way for them to pass, in our home. Dr Ravina helped to make their transition peaceful and humane🌈🐾🐾

We had loved our wonderful cat for nine years - our children grew up with her and she was a treasured member of our family. After finding out she had lymphoma in multiple organs and and seeing her quality of life decrease rapidly, we made the choice to have Dr. Ravina come and assist with giving her a pain-free transition. Dr. Ravina was such a wonderful light in a gut wrenching situation. She was so kind, even when we answered the door already sobbing. She explained so gently what was going to happen and asked permission before each step. She gave us all the time that we needed, letting our kids hold our cat when she was sedated before she did the final injection. After our cat had passed, she brought in the comfiest looking cat bed and gently put our cat into it, curling her up under a warm blanket. We knew that our cat had already passed but this sweet and comforting gesture really meant so much. Dr. Ravina's true kindness and care made this heartbreaking event so much less painful. I cannot recommend her services and the safe space she creates, enough. Thank you!

Yesterday we put down our beloved dog, Nutter, on a gorgeous day at the beach.... Dr. Ravina came highly recommended and for good reason; her compassion and respect throughout the process was more than I even had imagined. Dr. Ravina helped make an awful experience undenyingly beautiful for my entire family.... I am so grateful she shares her gift in helping people like me through this process.

My most precious Shar~Pei, Mei~Zi became deathly ill and I knew I needed to find a Vet to help my Pei-Bi pass. I called Peaceful Paws and Dr. Ravina came to my home to help me do something that is so difficult . Mei~Zi was suffering, and Dr. Ravina did all she could to help my Mei~Zi pass with love and peace around her. There is nothing more important than have a Vet who truly cares about animals and the humans who are loosing a part of their family .Dr. Ravina is very special, very kind and very loving with animals, and having her there for my Mei~Zi during such a painful, hard time was a blessing. If you unfortunately are in need for a euthanasia, then I wanted to share this information about Dr. Ravina with you so you could have the peace & caring that Mei~Zi and I received. Thank You Dr. Ravina !

We feel so very fortunate to have found Dr. Ravina when we needed her most! When we had to put our beloved 18 year old beagle mix down, Dr. Ravina provided us with the most compassionate ending possible. It was so peaceful and loving. Only 2 months later we found ourselves having to say goodbye to another pet, this time our 14 year old Siamese kitty who was just an amazing cat. We did not hesitate to call Dr. Ravina out to our home again. Her service and dedication is truly a gift. We were so grateful.
