How to Save Money at Gustin - Van Every Mobile Veterinary Medicine
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Marc Van Every was just EXTREMELY unprofessional & rude, & worst of all, gave me incorrect information about my dog's medical records. He was absolutely unbelievable--he must be under unusual stress right now or something because all these reviews seem good (but are likely more for his sweet wife). I have nothing bad to say about Christine--she was wonderful with my dog & I when we met twice. I met Marc once & he seemed much less caring & likable than her, but was fine. But today, he was unbelievable--how could a medical professional act like this?? I had text them on Friday asking to please send my 15 yr old dog's medical records from our last visit, so that I'd know which meds he'd need if it were a weekend & I couldn't reach them (they do not respond to texts or calls from Friday mid-day to Monday morning) & he had another ulcer emergency. They (Marc) text me back this morning-Monday-giving me an incorrect list of meds that my dog had not taken, & didn't send the record I had asked for. When I politely pointed this out over text & asked again for my dog's medical records, he then text the record & sure enough, the information he had just given me was incorrect. I asked him to please have his wife call me & he said "she's out of town, I'll call you now" & he did. He was obviously already annoyed with my text thread figuring out his mistake & asking to talk to his wife (who had treated my dog), although I was very kind & polite. So he was rude from the get-go, opening with "You know, we're extremely busy & you're lucky to even get me on the phone for a minute." So I replied "Excuse me" & he then told me "I'm happy to lose you as a client, so Goodbye then." I then called him an unprofessional d*ck & hung up. It was about a 20 second call. I've never had such an unprofessional exchange with a supposed MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL in my life. It's ridiculous that these people are in the caring business if this is how they treat PEOPLE. Marc is an unprofessional joke.

We love not having our more shy pets stress out about going to the vet. Marc is great about telling us what the animals need and doesn’t upsell us on services and treatments that are not unnecessary. Things have been a little hectic for vets with the pandemic surge of adoptions, so we’ve had to be a little more proactive in getting info and services, but that’s been common across the industry. These guys are handling a trying time better than most.

I only required Mark's services once when I had to euthanize one of our families dog back in 2012. He had a partnership with our vet hospital in San Martin and was able to come to our home when our dog was showing obvious signs of suffering. Mark and his assistant, Christine, were very kind and compassionate about our situation and were efficient with making our dog comfortable and putting her to sleep. They were so warm and caring after the situation. They provided excellent service. I ran into Mark again a few months later and got to thank him again for what he did for our family. Really great guy. Today, we had to put down another one of our dogs and we used a mobile vet local in our new location. The incident reminded me of how terrific they were all those years ago. Mark and Christine are knowledgeable and genuine people; you can't go wrong in choosing them for your veterinarian needs.

Marc and Christine have been our vets for 10 years and they have been the best! They are compassionate and caring with all our many animals. We had to put down one of our Labs this week and Christine was at our door within an hour of calling them for help. They are reasonably priced and it is truly wonderful to have the benefit of such high quality vet care in our home.

Gustin - Van Every Mobile Veterinary Medicine is absolutely outstanding in their field. Among all the competition out there, Mobile Veterinary Medicine truly shines. Their amazing care & expertise are above & beyond what we have experienced with other vets. The home visit also is SO much more comfortable for your pet - our dog loves them both. In the the comfort & safety of their safe, familiar surroundings, all the stress & commotion we used to go through at the vet hospital is gone. So much better for both our pets AND us. We give Christine & Marc the absolute highest recommendation: Professionalism, expertise & knowledge, responsiveness, and the most caring hearts vets could have :)
