How to Save Money at Stenner Creek Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Best team I could ask for. When I came in wondering if my dog needed a skin-tag removed, they got me in right away. They quickly located and surgically removed 3 tumors before I had time to worry. This surgery most definitely saved my baby, and I will be forever grateful. Surgery was smooth, I felt deeply cared for, and my dog is recovering quickly. Trust Stenner Creek Animal Hospital with all of your pets! THANK YOU.

*For the Vaccine Clinic and Staff* My credibility to support these claims is that I've been to a lot of vets and also I've worked at two really amazing dog kennels, still do! We came in today, Saturday around 12:30pm, thirty minutes before they closed. I think the front desk was amazing at greeting the customers, taking the time to be efficient with her and my time. There was already two groups ahead of us and then another group came in after. So, I thought they would be pretty slammed with only 30 minutes left in their work day. But to my surprise, they were very efficient and we were out of there by 1:07. I let the staff know I really appreciated them staying after and they were gentle and kind with my 1 year old beagle. She didn't even feel the shots being administered! Thank you to our Vet Tech! They don't require a first exam for your dogs before doing the vaccines, which I love! It basically takes off like $100+ from your growing vet bills for our furry friends. Not only that is they charged me around $95 for four vaccines: DHPP, Rabies, Bordatella and Lepto. I've been to other clinics and they are about the same price as going here. So might as well get established as a client while you're getting your fido's vaccines. We will be having an exam within the next month. I will post again about the next time I come in! Seems like they really just are trying to make vet care more affordable for everyone.

The staff is great, however, they currently have a replacement vet, who seems not to be interested in the general well being of our pets. He refuses to wear a mask properly and spent almost no time with my dog. I would not go back until the regular vet comes back.

We have been going here for the past few months for all of our animals needs and honestly We have had such a great high quality experience. We found some things about our cat that were so troubling but they were there to help us figure out the best outcomes for her. Just to know that they care so much about the animals. Knowing that We are in good hands , we definitely recommend Stenner Creek with their Staff and having Dr. O’Reilly who is so knowledgeable and understanding we are so happy to have this place. -Al & Liz

Unfortunately we HAD to come here due to no other vets being available this week. The only friendly people in the staff here are the receptionist Alicia and the NURSE who came out as we were already leaving (she was in a surgery but VERY sweet) Dr was not very friendly upon meeting my Husband and I, he didn’t give us any info, asked us what’s up with the types of treats we feed him ?? And then went on. My poor baby was whimpering the whole time , the Dr never greated my dog by name upon meeting him ? The staff was not telling him it’s ok enough and the fact that the Dr was not even the one who’s name is on the desk/paperwork/billing isn’t even there!!! I sadly don’t recommend this place to anyone! Yikes!! Thumbs down x5
