How to Save Money at Animal Dental Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

One of the best veterinary experiences ever! Dr. Farcas is amazing, he was so thorough and detailed, he took his time to explain everything and made sure that I understood what he explained, and he was very open to my preferences (but he was also very honest with what he felt like was realistic). The support staff were very compassionate and took the time to explain pre-op and post-op instructions. They are very much worth the price because the quality of care and medicine is superb. This is why I have pet insurance so I don't have to worry about cost and I can provide the very best when it comes to my dogs' medical care. I highly recommend Dr. Farcas and his team if you need specialty dentistry.

The entire team at Animal Dental Clinic in the Bay Area gave our pet outstanding care. Dr. Riggs exudes expertise and compassion, and truly cares about her patients. Your pet is in the best hands with this group. Thank you!

Dr. Riggs cared for our kitty like she was her own pet. I am always nervous about anesthesia, but Dr. Riggs took the time to write a very thoughtful email to help set me at ease. We have had two operations at ADC and will come back for a third if needed in the future. They keep you very updated throughout the entire procedure with text messages and pictures. This place is pricey, but for us it is worth the peace of mind that my cat is getting the best care.

I was referred here when my dog's vet found some signs of an infection in his tooth. The waiting list was insane but from the sound of it, they're really busy because there are only 3 animal dental clinics in the Bay Area. When I finally got Bear in for a consultation, Dr. Farcas was wonderful. He explained everything and lavished compliments about Bear. He was incredibly thorough with his explanations and the possible courses of treatment. Months later during the actual procedure (a root canal), Dr. Farcas called me before getting started to let me know that the infection was most likely from before I got Bear. I got emotional thinking about the pain he's been in and Dr. Farcas showed empathy and explained to me that the cost would go up due to the extent of the infection. He gave me the choice of a total tooth extraction to reduce the cost and told me about the impact of both procedures. Given how stressful this was for me, Dr. Farcas and the clinic were wonderful in giving me lots of information, but enough to make a good decision. I would absolutely recommend them. It was expensive, but I think worth the kind of care and compassion he showed to me and my dog.

As a serial dog rescuer, I’m familiar with going to specialists to treat my babies. I have never had a better experience than when I took my pug to ADC. Each tech, nurse, and receptionist was kind, caring, and easy to talk to. Our surgeon, Dr. Riggs, was an absolute delight to work with, and sent me text updates every step of the way. As an overprotective anxiety ridden dog mom I was overjoyed seeing how much she cared about each patient. I cannot recommend ADC enough!
