How to Save Money at Sac Pet vet
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The Doctor and vet staff saved my older dog 16 yo. Did a wonderful job with puppy. As well as being able to detect a heart murmur in my 12 yo that another sac chain veterinary office did not detect.

Been with the practice for 30 years, before Dr. Ghuman took over. He is the only one I trust with my pets. His level of genuine care for his patients and their families exceeds any doctor I've ever met. He puts the needs of my babies above all else, and is able to help me see when my own actions are preventing them from having the life they deserve. Chronic and lifelong illnesses in pets are often treatable and manageable if the owner is willing to take on the responsibility we sign up for when we adopt these guys. It's easy to become lazy and ignore these responsibilities when the animal is doing better, but only sets them up for failure in the near future. Dr. Ghuman gently nudges us in the right direction when we need this reminder. Dr. Ghuman is also one of the few knowledgeable exotic vets. Knowing I can also bring my guinea pigs to him without worry that the wrong medications will be prescribed is a great comfort. The techs and staff at Sac Pet are like family. All are very compassionate and it makes a huge difference when it comes to losing a loved one. The prices for services are also very fair and reasonable, and I always yet to take advantage of the Saturday vaccination specials.

Dr. Ghuman is so knowledgeable about animal care and nutrition. He also tells us how to prevent animals' health issues. His staff is very kind, helpful & caring. My many cats & dogs have been his clients for 18yrs. This doc treated my guy with a rare liver condition that UC Davis gave no options for. My little guy lived 12 yrs. Unheard of! Doc also knew when it was time to surrender this dogs sweet soul.

I would have given them a full 5 star rating had it not been from them opening up late and not having an open or closed sign indicates that. I arrived a little early and waited 20 minutes after they were supposed to open I even called the after hours # no answer. So I went across the street and grabbed some breakfast to go and came back still no indication that they were open. I couldn't even see any lights on inside the building, My sister called me and said she contacted them and said they were open now but opened later. I was parked in front of the door and couldn't tell either way. Now for the 5 star rating. I took my sister's cat to have it's teeth pulled and something else so I dropped it off the folks were very nice and and knew what needed to get done from the apartment my sister made. They would call when the procedure was done Which they did. Upon picking up the cat the staff was very informative about the after care of the cat and explained how to give the medicine to the cat both verbally and in writing. We are now waiting for the cat to recover before letting it Chase any dogs ( HAHAHA ) Final note to the doctor please get a sign to indicate OPEN OR CLOSED. Thank you.

Best Vet I’ve ever encountered! My dog was diagnosed with a rare cancer. After many different clinic and tests trying to figure out what was going on, we finally got answers here. But not JUST that. He was familiar with this cancer, and we had a very successful treatment plan. Although she did pass away eventually (the inevitable) she lived comfortably for way longer than expected. When the time came, I had a beautiful moment at this clinic and everyone was very respectful and nice. I now take my 21 year old cat with Kidney Disease here. She has shown so much improvement since this treatment plan as well. 110% recommend! Very caring, knowledge. Explains everything in detail. Very reasonable prices as well.
