How to Save Money at MarQueen Pet Emergency & Specialty Group
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I had to bring my beloved 17 year old cat into MarQueen last night and say goodbye to her. Every staff member was supportive, kind and caring to me and to my pet. They immediately gave us a room so we weren’t waiting in the lobby with other people/pets. They gave me Kleenex and checked in on us. They reassured me about my choice, which I knew was right but still found extremely hard. And I could just feel they actually cared. Even when they brought her back to me after preparing her for the meds to put her to sleep, she was caringly wrapped in a warm towel and in a cat bed. It was the best version of a terribly sad time.

Marqueen is truly and simply a best in class establishment. They have the best doctors, vet techs, and front office team. With 4 dogs, I’ve been to my fair share of vets and Emergency services. No other place compares to Marqueen. Having to go through or watch one of your pets go through a emergency event is already very hard to experience and to say the least it’s incredibly stressful, but one of Marqueen’s greatest skills is putting not only their patient but also their patient’s family at ease. My family and I want to especially give a shout out to Dr. Sutter and the amazing emergency team. Dr. Sutter treated us and our Cane Corso (King) that we had to recently admit to Emergency services, with so much empathy, kindness and care. She was attentive, patient, and took the time to attend to our needs as well as our dog, ensuring that our dog’s comfort is a priority. She walked us through a detailed treatment plan based off her expert assessment and thoroughly communicated with us when anything needed to be adjusted along the way based off our dog’s condition. We inundated Dr. Sutter with a ton of questions throughout the day, and she took it all in stride and with great patience - not compromising on any details and double checking we were comfortable with everything! Our dog typically struggles with vets and this is one of the only times that we saw him comfortable and more at ease. We thank Dr. Sutter and the amazing team behind her in helping with that. Lastly, we want to especially thank the front office team, specifically Ashley! Your first interaction with dealing with a pet emergency event is with the front office and we’ve had the pleasure with working with Ashley at the time we had to admit our dog. She greeted us with kindness, understanding and empathy. She also answered our frantic questions to the best of her knowledge and escalated to the doctor and the vet tech team when necessary. She made the check-in and check-out process very easy and seamless. She also personally attended to our request to give our dog a bowl of water which we thought was very kind of her to go above and beyond in that way. Thank you, Ashley, for your care! Overall, we cannot recommend Marqueen enough. Truly the best! You won’t regret taking your beloved pet here for any emergency or specialty services.

This place is pretty top notch, my 7 yr old Doberman has been having seizures all night, I started doing research online to find a place to get my Doberman checked out, I have heard horror stories with vets and had a previous experience with another place where me and my wife did not want to go through that again. I called MarQueen to see availability, the customer service I received over the phone was awesome, I expressed my concerns and the lady on the phone was very welcoming and wanting to help me out. She checked availability as I asked asap she told me bring him in right away. When arriving the customer service continued to be great. Checked in and matter of minutes I was asked what’s going on, they took him back to get examined, walked out for some fresh air and right away was stopped to ask about proceeding further testing. Quoted me right on the spot. When I walked back in I was listening to the person on the phone at the desk, she was great with everyone, gave lots of recommendations to who ever she was talking to. SHE DESERVES A RAISE. Went with further testing. 15 minutes went by and was told the vet is ready to talk. In an emotional state of mind, she kindly came in and explained concerns, he has a heart issue. The vet went over options. (Yes it sucks to get a quote and cost a lot of money; but I expected it was going to cost money to find out about his heart) everything was explained clear and answered my questions. My family just put down our female Doberman few months ago, my emotions started coming out. THE BEST WORDS I HEARD AS I AGREED TO MORE TESTS, “WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR BOY”, that made me feel really good. This place has the customer service. I will proceed on going to MarQueen from now on, it’s going to cost you money but quality people do cost money. THANK YOU MARQUEEN

We had to make one of hardest decisions to put our beloved 18 year old cat, Chelsea down. All the staff at this facility were so caring. Thank you for the wonderful service you did for us.

After being turned away by another local pet emergency center because they were not accepting patients, I found Marqueen online. My pet needed care but it was after 7pm on a Sunday and I know that when making appointments with her primary care, they’re typically unable to get me in within a week and we weren’t in a position to wait that long for care. My pet’s vitals were stable so we waited quite a long time, which I was totally fine with. I understand that other pets were facing life or death and that means waiting when you’re not critical. The facility is so nice and clean. There was plenty of comfortable seating. There is coffee and water to drink which is so helpful during a long wait. Everyone there was very kind and helpful. I’m so grateful for the wonderful care they provided my girl. They will absolutely be our first phone call in any pet emergency.
