How to Save Money at Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My sister has been taking her fur babies to Rocklin Ranch for years and the team at Rocklin Ranch has never failed to take good care of her extended family. So when our little girl, a 2 year old Siamese mix, started to vomit and stopped eating and drinking, I did not hesitate to take her to Rocklin Ranch. Unfortunately, our little furball, Pippi, still has a lot of her feral tendencies and really showed her wild animal roots to the staff. Pippi's behavior, not unsurprisingly, was off the charts and presented a huge challenge to everyone involved, including me! However, Doctor Clemente and her team recognized the desperate situation and in balancing the risks, persevered, and they were able to eliminate a lot of our concerns. Thankfully, Pippi now appears to be on the mend! 🥰 I very much appreciate the care that doctor Clemente and the team provided. Their patience and understanding, in the face of Pippi's wild ways, is greatly appreciated and helped us tailor an approach to treating Pippi that reduced the stress and danger to everyone, including Pippi. The Team always put Pippi first and I very much appreciate that. Doctor Clemente and the team at Rocklin Ranch are the absolute best! Thank you so much for your care and support of our little demon!

Best pet vet in the area. Professional staff, clean office, competent doctors, emergency hours, weekend hours, great online communications. No complaints, no notes. Pets were happy campers.

Rocklin Ranch has made a concerted effort to improve their animal, and therefore human, services over the past couple of years. Several recent (over the past 6 months) experiences make it easy to give it 5 stars. Our veterinarian, Dr. Ha, has shown great guidance and compassion as we've dealt with the death of one of our dogs. The support staff have all been very caring and supportive. I appreciate the communication reminders and the personal follow ups that they do after a stressful visit. A couple years ago, I couldn't stand up for Rocklin Ranch but I truly believe they have really stepped up by hiring good people (and I am guessing adding staff) and focusing on providing excellent service and support. Kudos to them!

We recently brought in a stray 6 week old kitten we found outside who was doing great, until she wasn’t. We woke up to her being lethargic and my usual vet I go to wasn’t able to get her in until the next day but we couldn’t wait! Called Rocklin Ranch and they immediately answered and offered an urgent care visit with same-day exam and I was able to drop off my fur baby right away while they watched her until they were able to fit her in for the exam. The staff here is extremely friendly and thorough. They have GREAT communication and put my stress at ease. Same day blood panel testing was a plus too!!! When I picked up our baby she looked SO much better and has been thriving after they provided her with an anti-nausea shot and hydration fluids. The DR even gave me recommendations on different foods that would help her! I highly recommend this vet based off this single experience and have been considering switching all my pets here.

I have two pit-bull mix dogs that super energetic and athletic. We run daily and hike weekly. They go camping and boating and love the outdoors. Rocklin Ranch has enabled them to overcome injuries and illnesses, made sure they are vaccinated approrpiately, and kept them trimmed and clean and comfortable. As they age, Rocklin Ranch will be a part of their lives every bit as much as they are a part of mine.
