How to Save Money at P.V. Village Pet Hospital, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Very thankful for my experience at PV Village. Fit me in next morning for my cat’s abscess and were all very helpful and friendly. Fudge is healing well and back to being a happy, handsome boy.

I just took my dog there as he had a weird growth on the inside of his ear and I wanted to get it looked at right away. They were friendly and the place very nice but when I checked out they charged me $714.70 , which was a shocking sticker price! It was mostly for the biopsy ($489.51). There was no prior mention that the fee would be this high, it was a crazy price to charge a potentially new client upon check out! Ive been to vets for years and have NEVER received a bill like this one. It's terrible to make it so pricy for people to take good care of their pets!

Life saver for my rescue dog with severe anxiety & bite problems. He is a sweet & smart survivor but major trust issues with human touching. Thank you sincerely for offering sedated grooming services to MrFlint the poodle mix. I’m so thankful for your services and cares.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! They made everything so easy and made for so much of a better experience when it comes to your pets healthcare. I called in the morning and got a same day appointment which I thought was impossible to achieve anywhere. Upon arrival the staff was very efficient about explaining the whole process of things during COVID. Once my Bentley was inside with the vet I quickly received a call from the Vet who was super friendly and explained step by step of what they were going to do and why. She was AWESOME!! She definitely put my worries at ease and since I have had many discouraging experiences with prior animal hospitals this was exactly what I needed to restore my faith that good people who genuinely care about your pet do exist in this world. When my Bentley was walked out the front door the tech gave me my take home meds and made sure she explained what they were and what paperwork I was receiving. The fees were very reasonable for all the services provided. I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everybody at PV VILLAGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL you guys are the best and my family and I appreciated the great love and care you gave our Bentley.

I have taken two of my pets to PV Village. They are always attentive and know my dogs name, and issues, without me having to remind them. They keep good notes in charts if they are monitoring systems. The staff is kind and compassionate. My dogs have always been excited to go to the Vet here, and that tells me so much! When we had to put our first dog, Thelma, down-they guided me through the process and helped my son grieve. They cried with us. I appreciate how they start with inexpensive solutions-but suggest the right course thats best for the health and wel being of your pet. They don’t over prescribe or jump straight to expensive procedures. I will always recommend PV Village
