How to Save Money at Inheart Animal Hospital Veterinarian

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I recently switched to this vet clinic after going to the one on Valley Blvd in San Gabriel for my Maltese, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision! The staff here are incredibly nice, attentive, and professional. The clinic is spotless and welcoming, which immediately gave me peace of mind. What really sets this place apart is the doctor Lee. He is so patient and take the time to listen to all my concerns and my boy hugo. I never feel rushed or dismissed, which is so important when it comes to my pet’s health. I feel like my dog is in excellent hands here. If you’re looking for a clean, caring, and attentive vet clinic, I highly recommend this one!

I went to Inheart Animal Hospital after leaving another animal hospital. I called Inheart but they didn't have any openings till Friday but because I was in tears Taylor the front office lady told me to hold on and she would see if the Doctor would make an exception to see me anyway. DR. Lee Told her that it would be okay if they squeezed me in. Trying to get to their office in traffic was almost impossible. I called them to let them know that I would be arriving 10 minutes late and they told me not to worry just to get there safe and they would wait for me. I had the worst experience at another office they did not even address any of my dog's issues and most importantly had me pay for my exam up front. When they saw how much I loved my dog they took advantage of my emotional state and told me that she had heart issues and I needed to have An ultrasound and chest x-ray of my dog's heart when that was not even the reason I came in. I came in for a UTI. They told me that because of my dog's condition I need to get her heart fixed first before they work on her uti. They came back telling me I need to pay them another $980 just to have an ultrasound and have my dogs heart examined. I freaked out and walked out went to see my vet and he told me that he did not hear a heart murmur Is on my sweet pea. He told me that because sweet pea is urinating blood I needed to go to a hospital to have an ultrasound and some x-rays taken. That is when I found Doctor Lee. The most amazing, compassionate, honest, And trust were they veterinarian you will ever meet. Because my dog was a native blood it could have been several things. He suggested we take things slowly so we don't rack up a bill and do blood work and one ultrasound to see what the outcome is. After we get the results from the blood work we can move forward with what needs to come next. I cannot believe my bill for having an ultrasound, a urine sample, Blood work, And a thorough exam only was $340. The other emergency hospitals Wanted to charge $1000 for 3X rays not including the exam. Bethany Was Doctor lee's nurse and she explained everything to me and answered all my questions and reassured me That sweet pea would be getting the best quality of care. Doctor Lee and his staff is absolutely amazing.... If I had to rate them they would get a 1000+. Though it is a drive for me it is worth every single mile. Thank you again Doctor Lee and staff for such an amazing Is experience.

All the staff are very patient and kind even with difficult pets. They don't try to make you do unnecessary tests to get more money out of you like many other vets. They are affordable and compassionate.

Wish I could give this place more than 5 ⭐️’s. Sunday around noon my dog had fallen from dog stairs. I was full panic mode cause it’s Sunday and not many places are open. I came across this new gem in the area and wow that initial phone call was amazing! Instantly she took down our information and had us head over. As we arrived the facility was nice, clean and modern. I’m about 15 min away from this location. They got a new patient (Kobe) I love how they treated us. The unconditional love they have for pets is truly felt. Dr. Lee was honest, knowledgeable, he is the primary dr here. Which I (LOVE) he gave us the best plan everything was at an affordable price just like others have mentioned! I recommend 10/10 and I will share this location with my friends and family. Kobe and I appreciated your guys time this Sunday! Thank you ❤️

I had a challenging time with my rescue puppy Benji after adopting him, as he seemed to have kidney failure. However, Dr. Lee was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. One of the standout experiences was having an in-house capability for blood tests, with results available in just 15 minutes! This was a huge relief, as it meant we didn’t have to wait days for results from a lab and could start treating him promptly. Thanks to Dr. Lee’s expertise and quick action, Benji is improving every day. We are beyond grateful to have found such a caring and competent vet like Dr. Lee for Benji’s care!
