How to Save Money at Eagle Rock Animal Emergency
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Not one to write a lot of reviews, but I do feel obliged to mention our awesome experience with Dr. Kennedy and team. Any time a pet needs a doctor visit, leave alone an ER clinic, it is absolutely nerve-wracking. Call it unconditional love or just the fact that no matter how close one is, there's no telling what goes on in a pet's mind when it comes to medical issues. On the admin side, the team helped us schedule a surgery for Ginger's fox-tail removal within minutes, took good care of her at the hospital while waiting for surgery, explained the expected procedure very clearly and simply, and provided an itemized list of costs - all over the phone, putting us at ease through each step. On the actual medical care, it is surely fair to judge the book by the cover in this case. The way Ginger's foot was taped post-surgery speaks volumes of their attention to details and care during the whole process. All this highlighted further during the conversation with one of the staff (huge shout out to Angelina) when we went to pick up our pup. We were greeted to the same sense of unconditional love we have towards Ginger and that's when you can safely assume she was in great hands through tumultuous times for all. I hope this helps clear the air on some of the negative reviews here. We were equally skeptical before making the call, but it seemed like the better choice among other places around town. Can happily say it was not just better, but probably the best choice out there when minutes are precious and you are completely clueless about how to get medical help for your pet. I do hope everyone's experience is as positive as ours and every pet that enters their facility gets treated with the same love and care Dr. Kennedy and team showed Ginger. Thank you all and wish you the best!

Had to take my cat for an emergency late at night. The staff, Dr. Kennedy so patient and caring-they talked me thru everything, explained what was happening and took such excellent care. I had no doubts Titus was in great care. Update: my cat has bounced back thank God. If you can drop off blankets or anything like that, please do! They are wonderful ❤️

HIGHLY recommend this animal hospital. Our little pup got stung by a bee and went into anaphylactic shock, and they immediately rushed her in and gave her the care she needed. Dr. Meredith Kennedy was very helpful, kind, and kept our mind at ease.

Thank you so much for caring and helping my little baby Tito. I can't tell you enough how amazing this place is. The Dr. will be so loving and caring towards your pet. The staff is also amazing. I am amazed by their professionalism. If you have any kind of emergency do not hesitate, your pet will be in great hands. They are very affordable as well.

Dr. Meredith Kennedy and her team are absolutely amazing! They checked me in before I got there (I was 20 min away) and estimated a 3 hour wait but started with vitals in less than 30 minutes upon arriving. Everyone is super caring and nice. They explain everything perfectly without missing any details. My dog came in for bladder stones and they were able to help her ASAP and even gave me all the blood work, paperwork and sent x rays to my primary vet so I can take her in the morning for further testing. My only issue would be that I wish it was closer to my house! Everyone is lovely here and I’m so glad to have found this place after all other emergency vets nearby not taking in anymore dogs rejected my dog.
