How to Save Money at Zen Den Animal Wellness & Rehabilitation
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Christy and Nayelly are amazing! My 15 year old dog Terra had onset IVDD and was paralyzed in 3 legs (we think it could have been a nerve issue or tweaked it funny). I took her to the VCA Specialty animal hospital in Glendale that recommended a $12k surgery and that she had a 50/50 recovery chance from being paralyzed. I decided not to put her through surgery because of her age and the risk (or the finances). I was so scared for Terra and her situation. After some Google searching I came across Zen Den and so glad I did. They have such care and attention. Sessions are around $80 down to $60 per depending on the package amount you buy. I took Terra here first in January 2023 unable to stand on her own and within 2 months with bi-weekly sessions she was walking again when the speciality doctors said she may never be able to. They are miracle workers! They treat dogs and cats with all situations- arthritis, displacement, nerve issues, IVDD, rehabilitation therapy, and many other needs. They have water treadmills, laser treatment for healing, and Christy performs acupressure type treatments to help identify the issues and release tension areas. Highly highly recommend. Because of them without a doubt my sweet little girl can walk again like a puppy!

Have been taking our 16 yr old dog Big Red in to see them for several months. He has some nerve / neurological issues with his hindquarters, specifically his right ear leg. He does hydrotherapy treadmill treatment twice a week, laser and muscle tension type of massage once a week. They're very patient with him. Christy knows her stuff, and loves each of the critters she works with. All of the vet techs who have been helping her have been patient and understanding. They deal with all sorts of different issues with pets, recuperation, rehabilitation, and long-term issues like our Big Red. Besides the excellent care, their prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend Zen Den!

As a dog scientist, the majority of my work deals with the exploration and development of practices related to improving canine learning theory. As a certified elite canine conditioning specialist and advisor, I am always looking for ways to improve the overall fitness and conditioning of our working dogs. Christy and her staff are revolutionizing canine rehabilitation, recovery and conditioning in a way that I haven't seen anywhere else in SoCal. Compassionate and understanding, the human touch they've added goes a long way towards helping nervous and worried pet owners navigate this space. Cheers ladies. Great work!

Physical therapy has been so great for my 6 year old lab mix. Her hip dysplasia is almost unnoticeable. No more limping, can hardly tell she ever had problems getting up from a lying position. Christy has been wonderful with my girl. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Christy and Lyndsey are the BEST!! I've been bringing my pug there for a couple of months now and she is walking so much better than before. While she may still require surgery, we can see that she is so much happier and feeling much better than before we started bringing her on her visits - and she really LOVES going to see the girls!! I highly recommend Zen Den for any therapy you may need for your pups!!
