How to Save Money at Glendale Small Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Had an overall great experience! I took my cocktiel in for the first time and the front desk was so welcoming and everyone was super nice and friendly. The nurse and doctor were also super friendly and handled my cocktiel with care. The doctor gave me great advice and she made sure she fully answered all my questions I had. The energy overall was very welcoming and the staff were very kind. It was a bit pricey but I accepted the exotic high price when I adopted him.

10/10 Exceptional Experience at Glendale Small Animal Vet! I've had the privilege of visiting five different vets in Los Angeles, and I can confidently say that Glendale Small Animal Vet stands out from the rest. My experience was truly exceptional, and I'm thrilled to share my review! Warm and Welcoming Front Desk From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly demeanor. They were informative, patient, and took the time to answer all my questions. I felt at ease and valued as a client. Thorough and Caring Examination The doctor's examination was the most comprehensive I've ever seen! He took his time, assessing my dog with a level of attention and care that was impressive. He performed assessments I'd never seen before, and his knowledge and expertise shone through. What struck me most was his genuine concern for my dog's health and well-being. Vet Tech's Compassionate Touch The vet tech was equally impressive, using soothing noises and gentle touch to keep my dog calm throughout the assessment. It was heartwarming to see the care and compassion they showed my furry baby. A Cut Above the Rest Glendale Small Animal Vet's quality of care, concern, and warmth set them apart from other vets I've visited. They genuinely care about the health and happiness of your pet, and it shows in every aspect of their service. If you're a pet owner seeking exceptional care, look no further than Glendale Small Animal Vet. I'm grateful for the outstanding experience and highly recommend them to anyone seeking top-notch care for their beloved pets! Thank you GSAH! Best appointment ever today!

I’ll start by prefacing that all the staff were very polite and friendly but I am astounded by the prices I was charged. I had three rats treated for mites in which they were given one dose of topical selamectin. This cost me $450 (this does not include any tests done to confirm it was mites) and I was told I would have to come back in 3 weeks for a second dose. I was charged $56 for each dose which I feel is hugely unfair considering if I was just given a prescription to buy it myself, I could get 3 whole vials of it for the same price they’re charging for more or less a drop of it. I unfortunately I won’t be coming back because I can’t afford these exorbitant prices

My family and I are beyond grateful to Glendale Small Animal Hospital. Dr. Hussain demonstrated utmost professionalism during the entirety of the visit, illustrating genuine care and concern for my dog. Dr. Hussain actively listened to all concerns, using simple and intelligible language when speaking to us. In addition to this, Anna at the front desk was so wonderful and kind to us.

I cannot recommend Glendale Small Animal Hospital highly enough! Throughout my years of pet ownership, I've encountered many veterinarians, and GSAH is by far the best. My cat, Archie, is notoriously difficult at the vet and, regrettably, requires frequent visits. However, Dr. Quan and the entire staff at GSAH consistently demonstrate unparalleled empathy, patience, and compassion towards him. Our experiences at GSAH have been uniformly wonderful!
