How to Save Money at Petlove Veterinary Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Between Doctor Saini, Teryn, and the front staff, we have had nothing but amazing care for our Linnie girl. She came in under the weather and they made sure to do a thorough look of her and caught her swollen lymph nodes and severe arthritis. She is currently under their care and being treated like the angel that she is. Forever grateful for PetLove ❤️❤️❤️

Taryn is FANTASTIC! She is like a pet angel. Seriously. I've never met anyone as great as her. I've been to many vets over the years & there is no one that cares like she does. My baby is alive today because of her. There is nothing I could say or do to thank her the way she deserves. Absolutely the very best. Thank God there is still people like her.

Taryn is amazing! Truly the most caring animal lover I've ever met. It's not just a place to make money for her she goes out of her way to ensure your pet gets the treatment they need to be cured. Truly one of a kind. Thank you so much

I was so frustrated to learn that my dogs vet did not have the proper equipment to treat a foxtail in his nose today. I became very frantic and searched up vets in my area. I called Dr. Saini‘s office and they immediately were able to offer me an appointment within a reasonable timeframe. Not only was I offered a same-day appointment, but Dr. Saini had all the equipment needed to treat my dog. He was very thorough and professional in explaining the services and aftercare. My family and I are so grateful for Dr. Saini and his team. They were very accommodating, efficient, professional, and quick to the rescue. Definitely will be recommending PetLove to all our friends and family! Thank you once again!

After having my dogs teeth cleaned a month ago, out of state, his bad breath was back. I called several vets, including his regular vet and was SO disenchanted at the way they take advantage of pet owners. After reading the reviews for Petlove, I called and Ahreana was extremely helpful, kind and professional when I spoke to her and I scheduled right away. Dr. Saini called after examining Bentley, asked a few questions, including something no other vet has asked, has anyone diagnosed him with a heart murmur?! That let me know he was on top of his game. They stayed in contact with me during the recovery and I was able to pick him up 6 hrs later. Even though his teeth had been cleaned with anesthesia a month prior, he cleaned them up and explained to me why he had built up plague in such a short time, but now I wonder if the last vet didn't do as good of a job as needed. I have tried the Pet Tooth Fairy in the past, which performs cleaning without anesthesia and it was a total rip off. A week later, my groomer told me his teeth weren't any cleaner. Unfortunately, Bentley had to have 3 teeth pulled yesterday, and 2 last month, but I am way more confident in Dr. Saini than any of the others. I highly recommend this place. It is clean, professional and they truly care about your pet. He even wanted to see him a week out for a follow up which the others didn't. Even though they are 30 minutes away from me, the drive is worth it , knowing I am getting excellent care for my little one.
