How to Save Money at Eastlake Village Vet Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I have been taking our dog to this veterinarian grooming services for several years now I had an appointment this morning to bring our dog in for grooming services as well as vaccination shots. I made the appointment yesterday told that needed to come in before noon. We had received a phone call earlier asking if I could come in at 10:30 AM. I contacted the facility at approximately 11 AM told him that I wouldn’t be there until approximately noon if that was still OK they put me on hold Told me yes I could go ahead and come in for the grooming services as well as the vaccination shots that were required when I showed up they told me that the grooming services were not available today at all that I could come back on a different date I told him that I had already spoke with someone less than an hour ago asking if I could come in they verified yes that I could but yet when I arrive, they told me that they were completely booked up This is not the first time I’ve had it that incident with this facility and if you read some of the other reviews, you can understand the frustration so I asked to talk to the owner she was there helping another client. She didn’t even acknowledge that she was going to talk to me she continue to go back-and-forth Between the back room, and the front never acknowledging that she would take a moment to talk to me I finally got frustrated and was expecting a phone call back from her which never happened so definitely not going back and will be looking for a different vet. Already found a different grooming service and very happy with the parking spot in Chula Vista they were able to take me Fairly quickly and did a fabulous job of the grooming dog

Brought my dog due to her injecting rat poison. As I walk in there was one girl in the front and one hiding. Not one of them greeted us. The one girl in the front walked towards us said “hi” and then went to the back to go hug the other girl. Once she was done she came over and said to fill out paperwork. As we did she said “you can’t stop we can’t help you” Isn’t this an emergency clinic?? No helpful information was provided no direction on where to go. Absolutely the worst possible customer service experience.

JOSH has ZERO CONCEPT OF COSTUMER SERVICE l!! If JOSH does not get fired soon, or get put where he doesn't have to interact with costumers, this vet clinic will start loosing costumers fast. I have been taking my dog in this vet clinic for over 10 years now and I had never had any problems with them at all. Today I came to ask for my dog's vaccine record and Josh tried all the routine questions to find my record but he could not find it. Acct name, dogs name, add, and phone. Then he looked at me and said Nope! Cant find it! like he's expecting me to just leave. I told him this is the only place (my dog) has ever been in so you have to have his record somewhere. Eventually, with the help of the guy next to him my dog's record was found. Before I left I I tried to give Josh an advice politely about trying to help costumer and not just turn them away because you refuse to try harder. He did not take it like a good customer service professional but instead talked back like a little kid.
