How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
If I could rate higher than a 5 for Banfield Pet Hospital I certainly would! The care, professionalism and genuine love for animals is commendable along with actually listening to the pet's owner in re to the issue for being there. I am EXTREMELY cautious when it comes to the care and welfare of Honey(my rescued kitty). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Banfield Pet Hospital if you love your beloved pet as I do mine you want them to have the best care and Banfield is the answer!!

Don’t go to this or any banfield they try to sell you as many unnecessary things as they can. Go online and you’ll see all the employees that have quit banfield because they are pushed /forced to sell meds, plans, exams, when they knew it wasn’t necessary. I’ve been with this location for almost 3 years and every time I take my dog I feel like I’m being persuaded into buying more medication than I have too or was planning on. They’re so good at making you feel like you need to buy or get certain medical procedures and medication especially the front desk employees. Thankfully my best friend is a vet at a hospital and I always call her for advice and she tells me what I do and don’t need. I chose Banfield because the location was convenient and I believed their priority was to take care for our pets but clearly I was wrong. Their priority is to take advantage of the pet owners and charge them as much as they can because they know we will do anything for our pets. They are money hungry and a ripoff. I’m canceling my plan ASAP.

Lack of attention could have killed my cat. I took my cat in because she was refusing to eat or drink anything and after tests they determined she had pancreatitis and an upper respritory infection. The treatment plan consisted of a two week antibiotic shot as well as another antibiotic to be sent home to give daily along with pain medication. Upon picking her up they only gave me one medication which was the pain medication and when I told them it was supposed to be two they gave me a funny look and insisted it was just the pain medication. I figured maybe I was crazy they did give me alot of information over the phone and I guess the antibiotic shot was all she needed. It wasn't until I drove 30 minutes back home that they called to tell me I was right and to come back for the medicine. She was extremely sick and had they not remembered she would not have improved. It took her a full week of being on that antibiotic before she started getting better. I also added Lysine to her food to help with the upper respiratory infection and I belive that helped alot. Something that cost me under $20 that I can get without a prescription should have been mentioned as an addition to help her feel better quicker but no they just kept recommending if she doesn't get better to hospitalize her daily.

Very nice and the vet explains procedures and the fees are given before procedures are done and ask you if you approve. They are very helpful
