How to Save Money at Pacific Coast Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery, Inc.
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Highly recommend pacific coast veterinary dentistry. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My dog is very reactive and they made sure the waiting room was clear when we walked in and were very reassuring he would have no contact with any other dog while there for his extraction & root canal. They were thorough in explaining what needed to be done and didn’t force unnecessary services. The prices are not cheap but they worked with us as much as possible. Just glad my boy will be feeling better now thanks to Dr.Sharp and the staff here.

I wish we had known about Dr. Brigden four years ago -- we could have saved about 7 of our shih tzu's teeth if we had his expertise when our pup was only two years old. Long story short, just because you brush your pup's teeth every night and vets and groomers tell you that there's no need for a cleaning because his teeth "look perfect", they might not be. It would be like a human having their teeth whitened into a beautiful smile yet never having a dental exam. There are things that we owners can't see especially if you have a small pup with lots of teeth in a small space. Dr. Brigden has all the best technology at his disposal and he'll tell you exactly what's going on in your pup's mouth. He is one of the best listeners I've ever met, he truly cares about your pup's best interests, and he understands (and explains!) what's best for them long term. And his office team is amazing, especially Amber who listened to me while I was having an epic meltdown after a bad experience elsewhere. Her kindness and empathy is something I will never forget. I can't say anything more about how fabulous Pacific Coast is -- just please don't waste your time elsewhere, go to an expert and save your pup's teeth. We'll be going back for yearly cleanings now that we have Dr. Brigden and his team!

Couldn’t recommend Dr Brigden more! Took really good care of my little Oliver and didn’t use up the max amount I was quoted for even though more teeth had to be extracted than originally planned which tells me he is honest and doesn’t try to over charge. My little guy is healing well.

Our tiny senior Chihuahua has an up and coming appointment for an unavoidable dental surgery, due to a fistula/abscess. The doctor and staff are thorough, professional and caring. We understand that our little man is a high risk patient but they have helped ease our hearts and minds. We are confident that he is in the best hands.

Another doctor performed a tooth extraction on our dog Remy, which failed twice. When they wanted to attempt it a third time, we took Remy to Pacific Coast Dentistry instead. There, they had to redo the other doctor's work and fix Remy's extraction by taking out more teeth to give it more space for a better procedure. .It was unfortunate we did not take Remy here initially, but we are very grateful for Dr. Panella's hard work and knowledge. We will definitely be coming back for his teeth cleaning. We highly recommend Dr. Panella if your pets need dental care.and rhe staff is friendly and helpful!
