How to Save Money at Valley Vet Care - Mobile euthanasia services

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

As anyone that has had to experience this stage in your beloved pet’s lifetime knows it is the toughest time and the hardest decision to make. We were so thankful to have chosen Valley Vet Care. Dr. Ishak was so kind and understanding. He explained the entire process and what we needed to know to make sure we were ready. He was patient enough to let us all say our goodbyes and waited for us to tell him we were ready to proceed. We didn’t feel rushed and I appreciated the time. Dr.Ishak and his assistant also let us know that they would take a paw print for us and Zach’s ashes along with his paw print would be delivered to Zach’s veterinary clinic. Within a week I received a phone call that his ashes and paw print were ready for pick up at my Zach’s veterinary office. Thank you for making this an easier experience for all of us that loved Zach.

I recently had to make the hard decision to let my best friend go, and I’m so thankful for service I received. They were incredibly kind and compassionate, which made such a difficult situation feel more bearable. They were quick to arrive and we got everything done all in the same day. It was such a peaceful experience, and I really felt like they cared. I can’t recommend them enough for anyone facing this tough decision.

I am extremely grateful for the quick service I received today for my dog. They were very kind to hear my concerns with waiting and the possibility of my dog suffering seizures all day and jumped to action. They were able to show up within a two hours to help me put him to rest. Upon arrival they explained the process and timeline of what would happen. I was already at peace with my choice before they arrived and spent the hours leading up to their arrival saying my goodbyes, playing as much as he could, providing treats and love to my best friend for what I knew was coming. The process itself was quick which I found less traumatic for my dog and my family. The only uncomfortable part of this process was the paperwork portion that I wish could have been done before arrival, but I did have a last min appointment so I’m not sure of this is normal process. Thank you guys again for your help and making this process as easy as can be.

Dr. Ishak has helped us and our pups he is very kind and comforting in our times of need. In May 2024 our big girl Beth was helped across the rainbow bridge in the comfort of our home with us with by her side. Then in September our little girl Belle who had started loosing weight after her sister was gone I believe due to a broken heart. So another call to Dr. Ishak as our choice once again to help us through such a difficult time he so compassionate and gentle. We recommend his service for home euthanasia and thank him for helping us in these difficult circumstances.

WOW is the only word I can think of when expressing my extreme gratitude for this caring kind, compassion (even loving), gentle, warm, thoughtful, caring team! I actually believe they were angels sent to me to get through this time and help bring me peace with the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Their words and genuine care were the only thing that kept me from crumbling. I could not have done this without them. I hope they never stop doing this work, as I would think they are irreplaceable.
