How to Save Money at Bell Ridge Animal Hospital & Grooming
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This location has a clean, spacious lobby that allows for animals to move around easily. The staff is personable and professional. When you go into your room, your animals name is on a white board welcoming them to the clinic. They informed me of all medical options, price points, and payment options. They he staff tries to take as much stress away as possible so you can focus on your pet. Really appreciate this vet hospital and clinic! (Oh! They have a little coffee bar too!)

My 17 year old Chinese crested, almost toothless dog named Monkey saw April and Dr. Starkle two days ago. These two ladies were nothing short of AMAZING. Knowledgeable, sweet, kind, especially gentle and respectful of my fragile little guy. Their recommendations have already made a marked improvement in his stance, demeanor and comfort. I'm so grateful for both April's and Dr. Starkles sound advice, care and concern for Monkey! They made me so comfortable, in spite of being on God's borrowed time with my little guy. I'm absolutely thankful for ALL of your staff. We LOVE everyone there. ♡

(In the attached photos the first is Lukas at home and the last is about 30 before I said goodbye) With that having been said, here's an establishment with some very caring and ultra classy animal loving people who are nothing short of deserving the description of Angels among us. They'll do just about anything known to mankind to provide the treatment your furry family member is requiring and then, to make it easier on your wallet, they'll even finance the total cost of the visit. The first thing that one sees when arriving at this office is the wonderful ladies at the front desk who are ALWAYS polite and respectful to you and your critter and your needs. The place is well lit and impeccably clean at all times. If you need to use the restroom or feel the need for some water, tea, coffee, or even Hot Coco, they've got that available as well. Once you are checked in and head into a room where you will be seeing the provider to explain your needs and the critters needs, you'll find it to be a very cozy and rather lIs back environment where the staff is willing to dim the lights and even adjust the temperature in the room to help make you and your critter more comfortable. I had begun to go here with my service dog Lukas to simply get his shots and was pleasantly surprised by how simple and easy it was to get everything done. The attention to detail and quality of care left me almost without words to express how impressed I was and am. I then took him back when he developed arthritis and hip dysplasia that had rapidly progressed and got to be so bad that Lukas could barely walk and even became incontinent. One morning (at about 3:00) when hed6 tried to stand up, his hips had given out he'd become stuck with one of his legs n front him and the other one stuck behind him . He woke me up howling due to his pain and I decided that I would have to help him in whatever way I could. After doing what I could afford over the course of the last few months , I took him back to these Angels and they were Vle to help me sat goodbye to my baby. They were absolutely AMAZING with the the amount of compassion they provided. They were so kind and understanding of the difficult nature of our situation. They made sure that Lukas wasn't hurting throughout every part of his last visit and that I was able to hold him in my lap and had plenty of time to say goodbye. I was even impressed when I was given a casting impression of Lukas' paw print and that was given some options for how to have his ashes returned to me, of which I had selected the Rose wood display box. Due to the quality of care that Lukas received with them, I will be bringing my new pup to them without hesitation. I want THANK All of the folks at AZ Pet Vet's Bell Ridge Animal Hospital and will have no problems recommending them to anyone who is looking for a vet.

They're transparent, communicative, and compassionate toward pets and their families. They offer payment plans to make care more affordable and the vaccines for life program is a godsend. Labs turn around quickly, the pharmacy's stocked, and the vets themselves take the time to go over options and care plans. I haven't tried the grooming services yet, but the gave my doggy a courtesy shave on her hindquarters for hygiene. I have two senior dogs in great health. While they would probably leave sad one-star reviews because they dislike getting poked, who can blame them? I rate the care team and office staff five stars. The night and weekend hours are so accommodating too.

Made an appointment, one day wait, very easy to deal with. Nice staff, clean facility, staff and doctor took the time to listen, gave advice and prices. When I left I got information written down (which I need because I’m old). Some offices want you to drop off your pet and then come back later. My dog is not a car, I don’t want him in a cage until someone can see him. I will be returning to Bell Ridge when I need more service, mainly because they give good service. Thanks Bell Ridge.
