How to Save Money at Arrowhead Ranch Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I lost my big boy Eugene yesterday, but the staff here are the absolute best. Lisa was there with me and Eugene when there wasn't time for anyone else to get there, I can't explain how above and beyond she went. She really made a huge difference, as did the whole staff. Dr. Aguilar also helped out a lot and made me understand what was going on and what I needed to do. Dr. Combs also took the time to stop by and she has always been fantastic and incredibly helpful. There's not enough room in this review to name everyone but Eugene loved every single one of you guys and y'all really are the very best. Eugene literally got excited to come to the vet and see his fan club and I refuse to go to any other vet. Thank you all so much!!

I have been going here over a decade. They have been amazing through so many emergencies and routine care. Once Dr Ardelt left I was confident in the staff to continue treating my family the same wonderful way. The newest puppy saw Dr. Aguilar and he was fantastic with him. Dutch is my first reactive dog and they took time, gave advice and made it a really pleasant experience. Its hard when your dog’s behavior doesnt reflect the efforts youve tried to make. It is also wonderful when a veterinary practice is understanding and encouraging.

My dog had to have emergency surgery and what could’ve been a very traumatic experience turned out to be a blessing. The hospital was very clean and the entire staff, from the Front desk to the healthcare providers, were very knowledgeable and compassionate. They worked with me to get the best care for my dog and gave me options that were affordable for me. They were very patient with my dog so that she wasn’t stressed and their work was amazing. I highly recommend this hospital if your animal is ever in need specialized care.

Dr O'Connell and the techs were very personable and concerned with my cats condition. The clinic is clean and comfortable. The Dr contacted me the day after seeing my cat with lab results & follow up. I would return again if needed.

If I could give this clinic zero stars I would. My 13-year old son’s bunny, Blanche, began suddenly experiencing back to back seizures yesterday. My husband took her to the closest vet but the doctor was not trained to treat bunnies. They gave her oxygen and helped us find a vet who could treat her. They found Arrowhead Ranch Animal Hospital. My husband called and spoke with a staff member at 4:35 and he was instructed to bring Blanche in right away. He was told that the doctor had just finished a surgery and would wait for him to get there. When we arrived at the clinic, we were told Dr. Randall would not see Blanche because we “took too long to get there”. My husband drove as fast as he could with my 13- year old son in the car crying hysterically. Blanche was still seizing when we arrived at the clinic and we were turned away losing valuable time. We were forced to drive Blanche to an emergency animal hospital over 30 minutes away while she continued to have seizures. The emergency hospital did all that they could and got an anti-seizure medication and pain medication started right away but she had so much neurological damage already that she did not recover. We were forced to euthanize her to reduce her suffering. My son is emotionally scarred for life. He just wailed and wailed at the emergency hospital and hasn’t been able to eat or get out of bed since. It is unconscionable that we would be told to bring in our beloved pet only to be denied treatment when we arrived. The staff were cold and uncaring and watched Blanche seize and deteriorate while they continued to go about their normal duties and even started mopping the floor around us as we were in complete panic. DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PETS HERE. I have never in my life experienced a lack of care and empathy as I experienced in this clinic.
