How to Save Money at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Honestly I would give zero stars if I could. The 1 star applies to the very nice receptionist. I brought my dog into the vet for conjuntivitis. The vet, I believe his name was Cole, came into the room and told me, my dog needed surgery within 1 minute of being in the room and without properly even being able to look into by dogs eyes. I was completely checked out after that. He could very well be correct but no other vet has ever mentioned his eyes being “positioned incorrectly” and to say it nonchalantly with no emotion, without a proper exam was extremely off putting. I knew then they were going to hit me a huge bill. He was very awkward, and it just seemed like he didn’t know how to connect with humans. However my dog immediately didn’t like him and he’s never not liked a vet. He came over and sat on my feet and growled at the vet multiple times. The vet made it a point to tell me dogs didn’t really “get him” but cats and horses did. They had to take my dog in the back to examine him so he wouldn’t be protective of me. The tech came back in and I said I’m so sorry my dog has never reacted to anyone that way. She said “oh it’s okay, he doesn’t really like dogs, he’s not a dog person” I don’t know why anyone in the veterinarian business would ever admit that a vet doesn’t like a species he has to treat on a daily basis. It was reiterated to me that he likes cats and horses again. Then came the 300 plus dollars worth of exams/tests that they wanted to do on my dog. As I said previously I knew this was coming, since he mentioned my dog needed surgery from the get go. I declined it all and will receive a second opinion from a vet that actually likes dogs. This vet very well could have been correct, I don’t know, but how it was presented to me was extremely off putting and wrong on so many levels. I told the tech I only wanted the eye drops for conjunctivitis and nothing else. The vet came back in to let me know again nothing would heal my dog other than surgery even though he does have conjunctivitis and to tell me the good news, that he didn’t have an ear infection. I did not come for his ears and also told them when they asked initially we weren’t having any ear issues. I don’t recommend anyone coming to this particular vet if they don't have a cat or horse. This was a waste of time and was an extremely uncomfortable visit for myself and my dog

I would say that if you can go to another place to get an examination, or a vaccination for your doggo or kitty cat, please do. I am very disappointed with the vets (Dr. Cole) examination of my puppers and his professionalism. Besides the helpful receptionist who was very nice to hear me out, and the vet assistant, I would rate this place a 1 star.

I had an appointment scheduled for my dog. He got sick over last weekend and I had taken him to a separate urgent care. I had scheduled this appointment for a follow up. I was looking forward to getting some professional advice and care regarding my loving dog. Unfortunately I did not receive any of this. I received a call from Stephanie stating that his appointment needed to be rescheduled because their computer system was down. The soonest available appointment he could be rescheduled for was 2 weeks away. The frustrating part is that instead of rescheduling the appointment in a timely manner, I was told that I would have to wait 2 weeks for my pet to be seen. Honestly while on the phone with Stephanie, I showed more empathy for her, than she did for me. I really hope someone reads this review and speaks with Stephanie regarding her behavior towards customers. Also not having a working computer system shouldn’t be an excuse for turning away patients, there should be a backup paper system in place if computer systems ever fail.

A big 'Woof-Out' for the Gilbert Vetco Animal Hospital - the staff is fantastic - friendly, courteous, professional. No-rush attention to our puppy and compassionate care ... just what he needed. Puppy Bundle well worth it - great value. Highly recommended.

I booked an appointment, when I showed up the computer didn't show the appointment even though I had confirmation emails. Instead showed a grey blocked time. I had to wait over 2 hrs then was helped. I answered a survey next day mentioning my disappointment . The manager Natasha called me was extremely unprofessional, left a voice mail stated I canceled. I have multiple emails, texts as well as the website showed confirmation. Emailed her, she denied and was rude. Natasha took this very personal for it being a computer error, lack of accountability was terrible.
